Please!! Please!! Arabian Lovers, can anyone find a space for this old lady....we have several now in their twenties, and they still do have a lot to offer and there is `something` so regal about these elderly matrons. Saying a prayer for her secured future in a loving caring home for the rest of her days

Hi Guys, She is Crabbet/OE bred and called Aden Crystal Kazra, she had some foals with previous owner, not with the owner who has her now. Will get more info either today or tomorrow. If anybody has the studbooks and can look her up, she is not on All Breed. And I am willing to share in buying her, but since I live in the Netherlands can not take her on as much as I would like, but if we buy her together and one of you has the space to keep her, I would donate now and then???!!!! Knocking the AHS yet again, but as part of its charitable objectives is welfare some thought should have been put into providing somewhere for discarded Arabs, even if an interim until a suitable re-home can be found, they are pro-acitive enough when it comes to fund raising to keep HOYS. |

What a good idea Pat.......Hope AHS Powers that be read this Post.
It is so very sad to continually have to read of these poor discarded Arabians, when in their twilight years, having spent their whole life befriending and working for their human Keepers
Just do not know how Owners can find it in their heart, to want to pass on their elderly Arabians, in the knowledge that in all probability, uncertain times, even worse, an abattoir might be their destination
Responsible ownership entails making the right decision, and selling an old horse, unless you have absolute assurance (which is rarely possible) to my mind, is irresponsible.
Sorry, do not mean to offend, but if circumstances force a decision to have to part with a horse, then feel you owe it to you "oldie" to allow them to live out their days, in peace and security. If that option is not a consideration, then grit your teeth, make the right decision and have them quietly PTS in familiar surroundings
Veered from the point...apologies. Really think AHS Charitable efforts may be put to good use, to be able to secure a temporary safe haven for old, rejected and neglected Arab Horses

Welfare of these horses by their own breed society, is an issue that needs to be addressed.Time to look after our own. |

I am also very sad to hear of yet another aged equine being tossed aside, when will people begin to realise these are living creatures with feelings and old age affects them just like people, they become more feeble and insecure as they get older and the last thing they need is the upset of new surroundings and the changes that come with it!!!! |

As said I am willing to donate to help buy her, if somebody has the place where she can retire. And I think that we can not judge her owners, before we know the reason why. I am in contact with the owner, getting more details soon. Monique |

OMG this is awful I could take her, but its getting her here to France, was thinking about getting another, haven't got huge amount of land and would have to live out with field shelter for the mo until stables built, but would be loved and cared for, plenty of fab hay, good vet and farrier, can't ride milly out at the moment because my tb gets herself in a state being left alone, but if someone could get her here I can accommodate. but then to be honest I could not buy anything else as do not have the room, but it is awful that an old girl who has given so much cannot live out her days safely. |

The lady who is selling her is in trouble, split with husband, and trying to re home herself and children, had to move away from house and stabling, now in city, so very much in distress herself, hence she is looking for a new home for her. I told you people not to judge so soon, always ask about the WHY!!!!! Monique |

Too far from me If she was nearer I'd be round there like a shot, but I don't know how fair it would be to move her to Shropshire at her age. |

or just have her PTS at home, in familiar surroundings. Too amny people just dont realise what the costs are of having a horse put down and disposed of. its something we all need to consider. |
