Well I understand that the Judge is only looking at the head in this class. Sometimes they insist that the rest of the body & neck is covered up.
Hope that's right |

Generally the horses come in the ring, walk round (no trotting), line-up (usually any order), the judge looks closely at the head only (at the Egyptian Event they have to wear rugs and neck covers - with no logos) and places accordingly. |

They should be looking for the Arabian type head, short with the broadness between the big eyes, short tippy ears, dryness of the features, small muzzele , deep jowl and the concave Profile, basically what the arabian should look like. much will depend on who is the judge and what he or she perceives this type to be good luck |

Also - judge may want to place a fist between the jaw bones (and rightly so!) |

Our boy Emenes has won all of his classic head classes and the championships in the UK and Europe that he has entered (except 1).
As Linda says the judge wants a typical arab head, but I do feel that it can come down to preference of the judge.
Have a go in the class anyway - it is a bit of fun.

Go to the events section and have a look at various years - try Egyptian Events as they have Classic Head classes ... |
