I will do the same for WSA Charismma*** this may well be his last year of breeding anyway as he has a massive growth on his windpipe if the highest bidder pays to the fund I will also offer to keep the mare rent free while she is here ! I have already donated cash but t all seems too litte to replace whats been lost WSA Charismma*** stud fee is £1200 this year so the successful bidder would be getting a real bargin! |

wish i was going to breed. What a lovely thing you are both doing offering a covering to highest bidder. The money will really help re-build some of whats lost. |

Hi now this might be a really 'cheeky' request especially as I don't have a stallion to offer myself. Could we not set up something similar to the Tsunami Auction which raised Thousands of pounds? I know that Nick & Mair and Linda have already donated two fabulous stallion coverings. I was the lucky winner of the Tsunami Auction Stallion - Emir Ibn Essteema - and thought the whole thing was really worthwhile, as I got the covering I so desired and a beautiful bay filly too, plus money was raised for the Tsunami victims. Is there any one else who would be willing to donate a covering? Perhaps admin could control the whole thing for us as per the Tsunami one? Anne |

I am more than happy to do the same although Ssinsation only Stands AI £800 stud fee happy to reduce to £600 so to cover collection fee by Hobgoblins Stud and £600 would go to the fund.
This tragedy has really hit home to us all, how it could happen to any of us.

The Tsuanami auction was done in such a way that all winning bidders had to pay within a certain time of auction ending (my brain is not registering at the moment) - and with the very successful auction it set it up so the winning bidder's money had to be payable directly to the Tsunami disaster fund, but came either via me or Lisa Carter so we could cross people off as they paid - so there was NO room for errr lets call it misunderstandings where the money was going,as in other auctions ... if Paula (or someone) could set up a fund in the name of Vicky and Brenda's rebuild I don't see there would be an issue.
I don't have Vodolej at public stud anymore - he's too old to cover - or would have willingly donated a covering to him, but I have spoken to Raymond and we are more than happy to donate a covering to HS Madani. Raymond has very fond memories of showing JJ in hand and we both wanted to contribute anyway we could. However , after chatting about this, we have decided to offer a reduced breeding to someone already interested in breeding to him and then put the resulting stud fee into the fund, rather than "auction" the breeding. The person buying the breeding would know this has happened as paypal issues a receipt for money paid over, with the amount, your name, the date and the account name on it, so no misunderstanding, everyone happy all round, and money going where we want it to.
I do think if this is done there has to be careful guidelines so that maximum money is raised and the quality stallions as mentioned in posts above, actually have a reasonable starting price - again as with the Tsunami stallions.
I too donated but this was every horse owners nightmare and cannot imagine what Vicky and Brenda are going through, so every bit helps.
Well done Nick for starting the ball rolling . |

Can I just suggest that the bids should start at a minimum £500? I would want this for several reasons, (1) it would deter people who would just be seeking a cheap covering . (2) remembering that the arabian market it already flooded we would not want to encourage unwanted breedings. (3) we want to generate as much money as possible to this cause. hope this meets with approval,so WSA Charismma's*** starting price will be £500 |
