My Milly is about to be come a veteran again. She reverted to non-veteran when Pet Plan changed the age. I was wondering if anyone else feels the same as me that they still charge the same premium but give half the cover. As the older animals are usually more careful with themselves re: external injuries I feel this is unfair.

Up to now I have never claimed for Milly. Perhaps they should also have a no claims discount.

I agree Veteran Policies are rubbish - we just missed the Pet Plan policy as Pasha was already 20 when they brought it in, but to be fair, he has cost and arm and a leg since with Arthritis/Laminitis/Lameness so I don't blame them!

I keep my policy as Pasha has been known to climb through farm machinery and it would be just my luck he got kicked or something if I stopped it! I also pay extra for colic cover as we lost a mare through that before we brought Pasha and without Insurance, the surgery cost would have been prohibitive.

Think it's a case of dammed if you do, dammed if you don't x
