The boys and girls moved to their new home yesterday and today. I've got the lease on a yard that is literally in spitting distance (well 2 minutes drive in the car) of my house. Being as I live only 10 minutes drive from the centre of Preston yards like this one are like hen's teeth. Still pinching myself that I've got it!
Anyway here are a few photos from today: The stable block
The boys at home
Horsebox and outdoor school
Ptraci
Shelley
The boys
The girls
Lots of settling in to do - no idea where half my stuff is - but very pleased to be away from dreaded livery yards and be my own boss again

Thanks all! It was lovely this morning to be able to roll out of bed, drive round the corner and see four faces looking out for me
Rachel - have entered Hopwas and Cannock... just don't tell the EG's. And of course it's all weather permitting... the long range forecast for the second half of Feb has said it might be even colder than it is now. Eek! Fingers and frostbitten toes crossed.
Helen - you must come visit soon.
Marianne - just me and hopefully my friend with her horse (though she's tried for two days to get him loaded to box him over... no joy yet... but we won't give up!). It is very tempting to add another arab to the collection. Trying to resist Hoping to breed from my mare (the chestnut) for next year, so will try to be content with looking forward to that.
And yes - no snow! Preston has escaped all the snow so far. In fact it hasn't really snowed properly here since 1977. We had half a cm on Monday morning, all melted by Monday lunch and apart from a few flurries nothing since. Hoping our luck will hold, though at least now I can walk to the horses if I have to! |
