Oh bu--er . I have just realised Lustre doesn't qualify anyway as he was only placed 4th at the Crabbet 2007 show. He is looking so well too

I hope to take Zinjadi but just trying to get confirmation that he has already qualified. Struggling at the moment with a should full of steel pins etc following a skiing accident over xmas, but fingers cross I should be on my feet by July and fit enough to take him |

Hi Merlin,
Yes Zinjadi is already qualified.
Just to let you all know that the rules for this are now up on the Crabbet Org website at www.crabbet.org.uk Think I'm allowed to put this up as we now have reciprocal links. |

So am, I right in thinking we won't be able to qualify at this summer's shows, since entries for the Nationals have to be in by 1st week in May... |

Dear Roseanne & Hollyhill Consideration has already been taken into account regarding the AHS Closing Date for entries. The AHS have agreed to take late entries for the Crabbet Championship. When sending your entry in to Linda Nicholson at the AHS you must make sure your entry is clearly marked "Crabbet Class entry late entry". You will then not be charged a late booking fee. Hope this helps

Couldn't delete this completely as I seem to have lost my password - so efficient! Glad Holyhill just has a sense of humour anyway. "Life is something that happens while you're making plans!" |

Sorry to ask another question, but how late can late entries be? For example could a qualifier from a June summer show with a Crabbet class still get an entry in?
Thanks |

Roseanne If you are attending a Regional Show in June who is hosting a Crabbet Class, then yes the AHS will accept entries to The Crabbet In-hand Championship at the Nationals for this year. I must stress when sending in your entry please highlight clearly you are wishing to enter the Crabbet Championship or you could be charge a late entry fee. |

Hi folks, we are in the process of compiling a list of all horses that have already qualified for our new National Crabbet Championship. Unfortunately this is a new idea and we are having problems with getting some relevant results, so if any of you have records of any of the following:
- 1st & 2nd placings in the In-Hand classes at the first Crabbet Show at Blackdown Hills, Devon - we have 1st but not 2nd for most classes! - Crabbet Class results for 2008, 1st and 2nd placings - all these results could do with horse name and exhibitor name if possible. Our list for last year is horribly incomplete at the moment.
If you can help, please email me at zobeyni.crabbet@virgin.net Thanks. Alexia |

Re Crabbet classes at affiliated shows. Wessex Spring and Summer Shows have always had Crabbet classes with rosettes supplied by The Crabbet Organisation. I assume that both of these shows will therefore be qualifiers.
If we had good entries we could split the classes and I will amend the schedules to show this.
Spring Show is on 11th April so would give an early chance to qualify.

Thanks for posting this Ziadomira. Suzanne Cruise is in the process of getting a list together of all groups holding Crabbet Classes this year and trying to co-ordinate and supply the qualifying info to the group Show Secretaries. I'm pretty sure Wessex is on our list so hopefully the info will get to everyone it needs to - do contact her at suzanne@cruisecontrolpa.com if you need to know any more. |

What exciting news! I dont have a Crabbet but i do love them, its fantastic to see them getting more recognition.
It would be great if the same sort of thing could be done for a Ridden Crabbet class in the future to recognise the perfomance aspect of the type as well :) |

Well funny you should say that Kath, we ALSO think ridden classes for Crabbets might be worth doing - we're working on a questionnaire to circulate to members and please feel free to suggest to your local group shows that ridden Crabbet classes might be a good idea - the Crabbet Org would provide rosettes if they happened. No time to put them in place for our Malvern National CH classes this year .... but perhaps we could aim for 2010 - if it all works this year of course! |

I think you will find that the Northern Group C show are putting Ridden Crabbet classes on this year, as we have been asked for them several times. Elaine |

Thats super! The Scottish Group are also doing a Ridden Crabbet class Would love to see more of these - my mother's horse isnt really an in hand beast, so it would be nice to have a ridden class to do instead. Elaine - i'm considering coming to the Northern show, you may have just swung it... |

I am just finishng the Wessex Summer Show schedule but if there is interest in a ridden Crabbet class at Newbury on 14th June, I might squeeze it in.
Please express your interest here.

It would be great to have ridden Crabbet classes at shows this year; I would definitely enter them as would my mother with her mare.
Hopefully most groups can add them into their schedules.
Many thanks Lorna

So wonderful to hear that North Staffs is joining the Crabbet club! Not a million miles from me - maybe I might even get across to watch. A thousand thanks for adding Crabbet Classes to your schedule - very exciting. |
