As far as I am aware it will be treated seperately like the AHS already does for the futurity money, this is ring fenced and used for the purpose designated. |

Perhaps the AHS should consider making more of the shows qualifiers, especially when we now have a bigger ring at HOYS which could cater for a bigger class, and the fan clubs that follow. This may act as a sweetener for the extra money they are asking for the qualifying cards. |

Well, I don't do numbers - but is sponsorship for 3 years, paid in advance?
I thought?? Jayne some posts back was maybe offering to manage it, she is professionally qualified and a co-opted/commitee person.
I would certainly be happy to send my cheque to her - if we knew a) who it was to be made out to --- HOYS fund - or a ring fenced AHS fund b) what(who knows) the interest rates - would it be better to send 3/5 years payments now or wait and pay annually. I guess admin wise a one off payment is easier .. but I don't know if that makes sense?
I would love to think that we could move forward with our loved breed, but I fear we all need to work together to just secure the future? |

Our hands are tied as to the number of Qualifiers - as these are "stipulated" by HOYS. - Sorry
Supporters Fund - i am "researching" the best way to administer this! Bear with me for a day or two! |

It might be worth asking why there are so many more qualifiers for other animals trying to qualify for HOYS. |

Please - i think we need to bet back to the "funding"
- we have had many discussions with the HOYS management over the years - and not to put to fine a point on it what we have is what we get! - Like it or lump it! The Arabs are not the biggest crowd pullers - and there are many other breeds & types that would love to take our place.

Just to confirm what Jane has said.
In a previous job I dealt alot with HOYS and holding qualifiers. They are a law unto themselves and will only give what they want to give. They don't like bending or helping.....
I feel that the arabs have a large number of qualifying classes compared to some sections.
In my opinion we need to get funding sorted or there will be no qualifers at all...

With regards to the class sizes our arab section is split into 3 categories, where riding horses and hacks is only split into 2, so in total figures we are not doing too badly since we are not considered a main attraction. |

Emma you are right - we actually have 1 class of 45 horses - which we choose to have split into Mares, geldings & stallions.
Anyhow - first thoughts on "Supporters funding" -if done through the AHS - then where applicable we should be able to claim "gift aid" on it which obviously increases the value of the donations substantially.

I think it would be crazy to complain in any way to HOYS at this point and I agree with some that the funding needs to be secured however it can be. It is such a unique showcase. How does its cost compare with Malvern? Could savings be made there in order to safeguard HOYS' Arab classes? |
