Hi, sorry as im sure there has been a previous topic on this.
I want to buy some foal rugs and wondered what everyone else uses. I love the Schneider ones, and have seen the Weatherbeeta Jasper foal rugs online. Does anyone have any preference for indooor/outdoor rugs, designs/brands? Best prices? Also is it best to buy the smallest size, such as a 3'0 for a pure bred foal and how many times do you expect to change sizes in the first 12 months. Many thanks for any input. Happy New Year to all.

Not sure what size your foal is, but Tallulah is 6mths and in 4,6", which she's nearly outgrown. I think the one she has on at the moment is a Cotwolds (maybe Vera would know for sure), but she also has a horseware wug.

Hi, Thanks, those links are very helpful. I have some rugs that start at about 4'3" but they wont fit at first, so im thinking of getting ones that start at 3'0 and go upwards. |

For the early babies - we used to use dog coats! Sounds a bit silly, but they were the right length and depth for the newborns to about a month old, then they needed the foal ones. But most of ours were home made, so much cheaper and pretty easy to make with a general template. |

I bought a 2 9ft rug for Eddie but with him being born in May he didn't need it. He started wearing a rug start of September I got a little Masta rug which was great with a lovely fit. He has a cuddle ponies one at the moment which has been great.

for our 8 month olds which are 4'6 - 4'9 we use cuddly pony combos which fit them great - also IV Horse combo rug is good aswell
when the foals were first born, one particular in the rain, we couldnt get normal rugs small enough (not even foal ones) so instead we used dog rugs which fitted great and are simple to put on and stay in place. After that we use derby house foal rugs until they grew too big for them all! |

Hi
Baby is 7mnts and in a 4'9 rug (Masta) that is a nice fit as is a cuddly ponies one.
Got her a 3ft6 and a 3ft9 when she was 3mnts old and she didnt even get the chance to wear them, she had grown out of them both in less than 4 weeks so they are sat in my tack room looking very teeny and cute, and i cant believe she was small enough to wear either of them :-)
