My boy has developed a habit which has become like an obsession. He repeatedly lolls his tongue out of the side of his mouth (always the right hand side). At first it was only occasionally and I put it down to being one of his quirks but lately it has become part of his daily routine.
I have had his teeth checked by the vet to eliminate any problem with his teeth.
I wonder if it could be an attention seeking thing? So I try to ignore it and praise him when he stops. To my knowledge he only does it when I am around.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why he is doing it and what I can do to stop him?
Hi! My elderly mare does it when she's expecting her feed...just sticks it out the side pulling a generally strange expression, eyes rolling, tongue as though trying to lick her own face! The minute she has her feed she stops...always just assumed it one of her funny quirks but if this is only a recent thing for you then I don't know! Or do you feed her each time you with her then it could be anticipation like with my Zoey
