Hi

I have a bored horse! Now the nights are dark i havent been able to ride, he is usually ridden everyday. The only thing i can do is give him a groom spend sometime with him and ride at weekends. Just wondered if anyone else has bored horses and has any ideas on what we can do to break this boredam?

Thank you

Charlotte xx

Get a treat ball, 1/2 scoop hi fibre nuts then stuff the ball with any chaff (I use Good Doer). It takes ages for the nuts to come out because of the chaff. Not only are you keeping them amused but my rehab lady said that they get a bit of a workout too with stretching and stepping back and forth.

I had a feed ball for when my lads were on straw but now I'm on aubiose was advised by retailer not to use it so they don't eat any bedding, any tips for bored bed trashing young men, I teach them from the floor when I can but also have no school and restricted lights?

Regards, Sapphire

Baileys lady said to tie haynet from beam so it swings around as they eat, Did this while Baz was on box rest but every other day also put sliced carrot and apples in it but not too many!

...Last year Geena recommeded "101 natural horsemanship exercises" to me - this book has been a great help to me... both inhand and ridden exercises - I use it all the time!
