Can't help with Rhino i'm afraid but had bad experiences with the WB Taka Half-Neck.... not sure how but Pasha is HOUDINI in this rug and can get it off without undoing any of the buckles or straps!! Also when it's raining and he has his head down grazing (the whole time), the half-neck bit sticks up and lets all the cold and rain run down his neck |

l have several rhino's half neck and full neck...find they come up a bit small so you need a size bigger or the neck will rub..the rambos are cut a bit more generous...but all my rugs are horsewear, have had other brands but they do not last as long or fit as well my lot seem to shred anything NOT made by horsewear!
a lot of people seem very impressed with the new amigo too...similar cut and very good fit for arabs

I bought some last year and they rubbed both horses manes I have now sold them and bought normal Rhino rugs. The plus side though is that the horse stays dryer, the rain doest seem to run inside the shoulder with the wug like it does on a normal rug. Michelle |

No experience sorry. I bought a weatherbeater combo for Ruby last year and within a week half her mane had fallen out . She now has a standard neck (or she will have once she loses enough weight to warrant one!) and a lovely long mane to keep her warm. No experience with half necks. Ros |

I have never had a problem with the Rambo and Rhino wugs rubbing manes out. I love them.

I haven't had a problem with them rubbing manes out either. They don't wear them 24/7. I wonder if the ones whose manes were rubbed wore them all the time? |

thanks every one for your comments.
i think that the way the rug sits, the seem on the neck peice almost seems to dig into the mane, so i think it will come off tommorow, i dont want to risk loosing his lovely mane |

Had several half necks and they have all rubbed and nope not been in them 24/7.
Had different makes with half necks, got rid of all but the rambo wugs, they are washed and sealed up in bags safely in the loft, love horseware so couldnt bare to part with them despite them being nearly new but wont put them on my horses again! Its just standard necks for all mine! |

Hi. Everyone i know that has used these have ended up with rubbed manes but never tried one myself. I love and i mean love Passoa rugs, fit beautifully, well made. Dont ride back. Move twist or anything. No wet patches on the shoulder. I have three which i have had for 4 years and they still look like new. Two friends also have them and they are equally impressed. About £90 but more than worth it. |

This thread is depressing me !! We have used Rhino half necks for years, they are v old and patched and probably won't see the winter out. I was off today so bought 2 off the internet. Harry and I had a quick summmit meeting and decided that we would stick with them as although the mane wears a bit they seem v snug and don't rub the skin or coat hair at all.Later I log on here to be reminded that my horses will look like horrible-half-hogged-in-hand-show-horses in reverse come March!! Oh Well! Lisa |

i have the light weight and the medium weight versions of these - and no mane rubbing. i also have have the full neck version in the heavy weight and yep that rubs his mane. i think you have to take into account the horses shape etc. sorry that last sentence was a bit teaching my grannies to suck eggs. hey ho |

I have a high neck weatherbeata which Tara has worn when she's been staying out 24 hours and it didn't rub her neck. In fact I think it's my favourite rug, I don't want it to ever wear out! |
