I have my own this year, lovely stuff, big round bales and am going to sell a bit later on, have been advised to sell for £25, am in North Wales. Locally farmers say there will be a shortage due to wet weather, but to be honest they always say that!!

Our large round bales cost us £18, theres no charge for delivery on top of that either, which we've been told is a very good price The haylage is usually excellent quality too!

Our large round bales cost £20 inc delivery and they are lovely BUT the farmer that sells us our haylage has 90 acres for haylage and he only managed to cut 30 acres before the rain started. As most of the farmers around our area did, he finished cutting the rest in September and he says it is only fit for cattle. So we are looking at a shortage of decent haylage! |

Think I've been ripped off!! We've just paid £35 for large round bales and £6.50 for small square bales delivered. Hay in Scotland this year has been a non starter as it never stopped raining long enough for most of the farmers to make much in the way of hay. I was quoted £4 a square bale though with delivery, but decided that if I was paying that much for hay I may as well have halage! |

my farmer is charging 25 for large square bales [delivered] and 30 for very very large bales of ryegrass hay...
there is cheaper around but l know these are very good quality and if one bale is ripped and not useable it is replaced instantly
as he is a farmer he understands the needs of horse people and when somone took off with some hay last year got a bale to me in an hour!
you can not beat that [and l had no money on me either!]
