Zara Phillips had a bad fall on Tsuanami II at Pau in France - apparently at an easy obstacle. Very sadly the mare broke her neck and Zara her collarbone.

poor horse and poor Zara. how awful.

Think she took a tumble on this mare before at Bramham or Burghley or somewhere.

I haven't the nerve to watch any more, after seeing a mare fall coming into the sun in a heavy shower at the Dublin show. She didn't get up, ever. These things remind us of just how dangerous and heartbreaking our sports can be. A sad day for all concerned.

I was supposed to go and spectate today - thank God I didn't -too upsetting. I've seen them before and am a huge fan. Zara is a damn good horsewoman. So so sad....
