I would love to share some pics of my boy Bashir Dhakwan (ELDYR X DAHMASK). He is curently being broken to ride and is in the capeable hands of MEL AND FRANKIE Waring . Knowle farm arabians. I am so excited about having a horse that i can ride. I have not ridden properly for years and it will be great to get on board again. I think though i will need some lessons and a stiff drink before i get on a horse again, its been such a long time thats whot makes it so exciteing....http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn313/teresaroger1965/HM830J195_3.jpg

hya, No i have not just bought him , i was the one selling him,but to cut a long story short have decided to keep him. I had him up for sale not long ago as he was very hard to handle and me being little me found i had taken on a boy i could not manage. So after lots of soul searching and sleepless nights asking for advise i decided it was best to find him a great home with someone whoom could manage him.Well as soon as i put him up for sale he started behaveing himself ,he was actualy neighing at me and wanting to spend time with me , his rearing stoped and his bolshy behaviour started to ease of . I felt like i had another horse,so everyday after he would look forward to me coming he would lie down with me in stable and i could do anything with him , it was great. A proper fairy tale . so now he has started his training and the world is our oyster. So happy days ahead...... |

They read minds when it comes to going on the sales pages. We have a welsh mare here, 13 and by her behaviour never broken to ride. she was going to have to go, BUT she became a real sweeetie coming over for attention, and letting 5 year old on her back. She has issues putting a bridle on, someone seems to have given her a good smash in the teeth, but as I bit in rubber first time round even that is getting better. she is clueless, knows nothing that she is asked, but being so amenable looks like shes staying!
Your boy is lovely, hope you have some good times with him when he comes back. |

Hi T
Dhak looks really well. I'm so glad you sent him to Mel & Frankie, they will do a great job with him I'm sure.
What you must remember that once broken in & started 'right' you have got to carry on his education. I'm sure Mel & Frankie will help you all they can
Lots of love to you both |

Thankyou all for your'e smashing comments, i have not posted on this forum for a while its just in the last few days i have been hitting the buttons and im so glad i did put a few posts on. You have been all very supportive with my queries and its great to know that we all share the same passion, our love of arabian horses. I feel so guilty now that i nearly sold Dhakwan and could kick myself for even thinking about it,but at the time i realy had no opption, he was a nearly 3 year old colt when i got him and was only gelded 6weeks when he came to live with me, he was awfull it wasn't enjoyable and i thought "whot have i done" but it just shows if you persevere things work out in the end. These photos were took in Aug o8 and i would love to thank NAT H for all the advise she gave me ,can't wait to meet your new lady, she looks fantastic and a foal on the way ,so happy for you, also eveyone i bugged with my problems with Dhaks. Vicki M thanks for all help you were a fab listener and a lovely person. Also a big thanks to oddellie i must of bored you with my rambleing on thanks duck!!!!!The last thanks go to mel and frankie waring for being there and makeing my dream come true...Speach over..... |

I love this thread and you are definately NOT boring us AND I love your speech....Dhak is stunning and im so glad you are keeping him and working on your relationship..it gives me hope as I sometimes wonder if I did the right thing buying Bo...he seems a bit too fly for me when riding him and sometimes I get scared of what he mght do but hes 13 and only been with me for 4 months so I guess we are getting to know each other...he is the cuddliest horse ive ever met so I am in love when my feet are on terra firma.....Big learning curve I suppose and he is my first Arab |

He looks a beautiful boy, I am sure you will be fine when he comes back to you. I always do lots of in hand work as well as ridden and my horses all go on voice commands - which is good as you know they will listen to you (hopefully) if things get a bit hairy. Just keep thinking positive thoughts - I am sure he will come back a very pleasant and obedient boy.
Good luck and happy riding.

Just a quick update on Dhakwan i went to mel and frankies place yesterday to see Dhaks and wow he is coming on so well. Frankie and Mel have done such a fab job with Dhakwan he looks like a proper horse now all grown up and being ridden ,im so happy with his progress that he is staying with frankie and mel a little longer to further his schooling. I am so happy that i sent him away to be broken and to such dedicated people as frankie and mel. Here is a photo that was taken 5 weeks into his breaking.thanks |
