Well I mentioned a few weeks ago that Mara had injured herself larking around in the field - one month on and a plaster cast later we are now making big steps towards a recovery The cast did its job brilliantly and the original wound has healed really well, but unfortunately it rubbed her fetlock meaning more box rest and bandaging She is only two and such a sweet girl - she is coping really well with being stuck in, but I can tell she is a bit fed-up. She loves her grub and I struggled to get any pics of her not eating! Her are some of the patient
She likes to help

Lovely to see pics of Mara (Sunray Spring Sonata) Such a dreadful shame but hope she is healing well and will not be blemished. She is so very like her Mum....Marie has the most amazing calm and easy temperament. Big hugs for Mara. Love your Boxer Puppies, can`t have one though...three little terriers (terrors) are quite enough, dog wise.
Will send you some update piccies of Mara`s kid brother Milo, soon as I get the camera out again. He is growing well and has a super temperament.
love Babs xxx

Thanks Pixie and Babs She is healing well - feeling much more positive now - the vet is coming every few days to change bandage. The actual rub is about the size of a 10pence piece and is on her fetlock. The vet feels quite confident that he can keep any blemish to an absolute minimum and the positive thing is there is no lameness or structural damage - it is just a case of keeping it covered and infection free whilst it heals. |

OK, I'm not Babs either but still looked at the photos. Glad that she is on the mend and nice to see she can multi-task and clean up after herself. |

Looking again at your piccies and Mara sweeping up....I am very worried...as it is an accident waiting to happen Should something spook Mara and she shoots forward or brings her head down suddenly, that broom stale could cause serious injury to the roof of her mouth, or worse still, go down her throat and may cause devastating damage.
Hope she heals very soon and can get out and about again. What a sweetie for a young filly, to be so sensible about her lengthy confinement to her stable
Big Hugs from her kid brother, Milo
Hi Mara, me having fun with my mate and our Mums, few weeks ago You wont recognise me now, very much bigger and losing my `foalie` fluff, now same colour as Mom...almost!!

Milo is looking great Mara sends him a big hugMarie looks lovely too
Point taken about the broom although it was honestly just a photo moment and there was someone standing right next to her. She loves to follow me round when I muck out and is into everything! We really do take safety very very seriously which is why it is so, so upsetting that she has managed to injure herself. Our paddocks are literally just grass and post and tape fencing - blooming horses!!
