Can you believe that she was banned from keeping horses in Germany and just fled across the border and does it all over again in Denmark?? And what about the idiots standing beside her and in the stable?? They are as guilty as she is. She has five clients horses at this stable, can you believe that, giving your horse in HER hands??? There are some seriously sick people around. Thank God this 'activity' has been given air time for people to see just how abusive some morons can be, and maybe people who would consider sending their horses to a 'trainer' will check out their credentials and closely watch them working a horse.
On a lighter note, I would love to see this type of trainer try and work my stallion - he would most definitely 'bury' them

The video was taken in Denmark by hidden camera in the stable where she has rented her in. It was send to the animal wellfare who tell the police. Last thing I heard was that she has now leaved Denmark with the five horses, before the police came, nobody knows whereto.
All horse people here ar very, very upset too.

Last update is that tree of the horses are back in Germany by their owner and placed in a center, where she is not alloud to come.To day she will move the last two and it is possible she will go to Italy.
There are some talk of if she is, now words fail me, but if she is persucuted( spelling) in two countries in EU she will be forbidden to have with horses to do in all EU countries.

Well done to the person who videoed this footage. I couldnt watch all of it because it made me feel sick.
I am someone who is struggling to hold a schooling whip with my youngster because I have spent 20 years riding without a whip at all. Cant believe anyone would want to beat a horse like that and how they can ever think it would improve the relationship between them and the horse.
Horrible woman. I hope she gets her just desserts.

She probably beat him to death. Losing ones nearest and dearest is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. |

Wonder what the response in the dressage world would be if we managed to capture one of our 'top' trainers practising their training methods on an Arab ?
Seems to me just about every discipline our beloved equine friends are involved in, there can be awful abuse, perhaps more so at the 'top end' of competition where the pressure is highest.
What did these wonderful, willing animals ever do to deserve treatment like this, and why do people get away with it ? You wouldn't get away with beating a dog like that, so why should a horse be any different? GRRRRRRR |

Abuse aside what is she thinking she will achieve by treating horses in this way? why is she beating a horse and lungeing it? Psycho comes to mind, I hope one of her horses shows her the same 'no mercy' treatment one day although it will probably be bad news for the horse, this woman shows the same attitude to her horses as that cow I had dealings with over abuse with my horses,

unfortunately this 'trainer' was very successful in Germany-until somehow the outcome these sorts of methods can be seen in the arena I fear it will continue. and it is very wide spread-at least the sore mouths, spurred sides and lunging with tight draw reins on tiny circles is. there were pictures of a dressage pony being lunged in such a manner last year that caused an outcry.as long as these trainers are alowed to continue and have success then people will continue to send horses to them, some in ignorance and some not. this woman apparently trained Active Walero between the ages of 6-8 and is proud of the fact he broke her hand-the horse was notoriously 'difficult' which is now perfectly understandable. as much as I'd like to see a horse get its own back, I can only shudder at the thought of what such a person would do in retaliation-and its hard to fight back when you are struggling for breath and cant see because your head is strapped to your chest. :( |

Only just seen this link and like others am appauled. What amazes me is the horse was so conditioned it did not seem to even put up a fight whilst it was being whipped, it just continued to canter round and kick out slightly or buck. And as for the heads being strapped in so tightly, it looks horrible for a start, but is nothing more than torture. Horses do not move like that naturally.
It is all once again about mad bad humans domination of the horse Nicky |

I have just picked up this thread and in common with other contributors I am appalled at the treatment of those dressage horses. Apart from the blatant cruelty, how can those 'rider/trainers' call themselves horsewomen ? I have only a limited knowledge and training in dressage which goes back to the days (20 years ago) when I used to compete in one day events on my wonderful, now departed, Crabbet mare 'Valeska'.
I was taught that when a horse was working 'on the bit' the correct outline was achieved from the implusion from behind, in other words the outline of the horse was generated from the 'motor' - the horse's hindquarters. It was NEVER EVER from pulling the head into a false over-collected outline. The horse's head should flex at THE POLL not halfway down the neck ! To suggest the use of draw reins as a 'training aid' was to subject yourself to a tirade of condemnation from my instructor !!!
These so-called trainers have taken the easy option which is so evident in the way those poor horses carry themselves: over bent and with their mouths being tortured from the severe bits and the heavy hands of their riders, together with the unnecessary over use of spurs.
NAME AND SHAME THEM IS THE ANSWER !!!!

There is a 'dressage trainer' in our area with the same reputation as this woman. Never actually seen her do anything abusive in person (I wouldn't stand for it) but I have heard the stories from several sources. People still give their young horses to her to train (and ruin) because she sounds like she knows what she's doing and they don't have a clue. Stupid thing is she never competes or wins - so I don't understand how she can attract business in the first place! |

Last night I went to a show in downtown Dallas,it was the Medievel thing, with Knights and horses, sadly I saw some not very nice treatment of the horses in the show, spurs were used constantly, whips were used in the Andilusian display and the horses all had dead eyes! cruelty to horses for the sake of entertainment is all to common. |

Appalling. Well they say a poor craftsman always blames his/ her tools. If this was seen happening to a child she'd be locked up. Forgive my ignorance but what is rollkur? I could google but I'd rather ask on here.I have just had my previous preconceptions of dressage as a graceful unity between horse and rider quashed.I know not everyones the same but it took a hidden camera to discover what she was up to. I'd always heard the stories of the abuse that goes on in show-jumping but I suppose \I was stupid to think dressage, for all it's apparent grace, would slip the trend. Really saddened by it.I'm currently reading a book by Claus Ferdinand Hempfling and the harmony he has through no cruel means. If he's on you tube try to find as its how it should be, unless I'm missing something here too.... |
