She is coming on nicely isn't she? She looks like a real little QH. How tall is she now?
Looks like you had a lovely sunny day as well, that would be because Ontario has all the rain. |

Abbi - haven't measured her - but I'm 5'6" & the field slopes away towards photographer - so am slightly above her. Agree about the QH build - now were has she hidden her Arab 1/2?! LOL
Rosy - she is solid - built like a you know what Her back is already table top & she is going to have typical QH mutton withers just like mummy Bottom as well Got to post the below photo as Charlie says he has a BIG bum as well (hes as tall as his sister - but not got her bulk!)

Charlie's lovely as well, but there is 'something' about Ruby. Must be the chestnut mare thing. Or is it because she reminds me of a certain PBA chestnut mare?! |

Gemma - Ruby already has ATTITUDE - this afternoon she didn't want to have anything to do with OH (normally all over him) - but this might have something to do with this morning as he fed them & she wanted to give him kisses - but had just been eating mums poo & wanted do kissy kissy with him with her poo lips - OH said she looked as if she had just applied lipstick! So think she was still being huffy with him because he refused her advances |

Mogwai - YES we are so delighted with our Ruby - she looks just like a mini Quarter Horse version of her mummy (Polly full QH) - we are struggling to see her dads influence (dad is high % Crabbet Arab) !!!!

Lovely photographs. I am becoming increasingly interested in this cross. A friend of mine has quarter horses, she knows I have arabs, and has told me countless times that the quarab is one of the best crosses out there! Nicky |

Nicky,
I have to echo Judith about the Quarabs, they really are great little horses. The chestnut mare and the foal in the last photo of my signature are both Quarabs (the QH'y chestnut one, incidentally, is called Ruby!) Very popular here in Canada as childrens all round ponies, especially the smaller ones.
I am debating about whether the way they are crossed has any relevance to the 'type' you get, QH on arab mare (= my araby filly), or arab on QH mare (= Judiths' QH'y Ruby) My mare is due to the same stallion again next year so, all being well, it will be interesting to see what that one is like.
I have recently found out that the 2nd palomino in the signature out of my Amurath mare was by a palomino QH so she is a Quarab too, no sign of QH in that one, at all!
I think Razgold has a Quarab that she is really pleased with too.
