Who didn't turn up to the South AL meal on saturday and Why.
I arrived at the pub at 10 to 8 to find no one there.
Had had a txt from Vera saying she was ill but all enjoy the evening.
Out of 15 people only 6 turned up. I know the weather was foul but I drove 60 miles up the motor way in heavy rain and 60 miles home later that evening Still in heavy rain.

After you phoned me I text everybody, Heatherr replied to say that she couldn't make it either. Later I had a text from Nicky to say that she wasn't going to make it either - she had warned me that she was going to be late but with the awful weather was much later than expected.
Sorry I didn't pass these messages on to you as I was dead in bed.

I'm terribly sorry - I could have sworn I'd replied on the thread to apologise for not being able to make it but apparently not
Hope you all had a nice evening.
Sorry again,
Lauren

Hi
Sorry - I was teaching up in Lancaster all last week and had intended to drive back after finishing there on Friday night. I was staying at my Dad's in the northern Lake District, who's in his mid 70's and has no internet (we still haven't persuaded him to get a mobile yet, so internet step too far)
However during the week the band that my OH and I want to play at our wedding, phoned to let me know that they were after all playing gig in Carlisle on the Friday night - my Dad and I needed to see them before we booked for them for wedding.
So only got to leave northern Lake District on Saturday morning, for 350 mile drive home. By the time I'd driven back down to south coast, been to stable yard to see Cinny it was nearly 7.30 and all I was fit for was a snooze on the sofa...
So very sorry and will do better if there is a next time...

Hi Pauline,
As Vera said I did reply to her text message - but admittedly it was late already by then. I had anticipated that I could go and collect my colt from his holiday that afternoon, with a 4 hour round trip and warned Vera the weekend before at the show that I might be a bit late as a result but still planned to come. As it turned out the foul weather delayed all my plans and resulted in horrendous conditions, traffic and miserable horses. I'd been looking forward to it - both the conversation and food - but it was too late by the time I got home and dry. Very sorry folks, as I always enjoy the get togethers and try to make the effort |

I would love to have come but it was a long way from East sussex, perhaps the East Sussex & Kent contingent could hold a get together in our area. Nicky |

Hi
Just sad that didn't make it as would have been lovely to meet others who appreciate arabs, instead of everyone around here who thinks I'm made to have one.
By the way didn't get text, but probably as no one my number... (whoops - my fault)
As I said on other thread Cinny was poorly on Saturday when got back - so vet came out on Monday and did blood test.
Unfortunately results came back today and her blood cells came back "wonky" (not official vet speak) so now she has got to have ultrasound of her abdomen this Monday...

Ha ha Sarah that was funny We drove all that way too when we could have just had it where we live! Lovely food though
I've had a look at the map and Tunbridge Wells isn't too far, so I'd be up for going. Date depending, obviously. |
