Any advice/recommendations appreciated. I want a winter turnout rug for a yearling arab. He's about 5' I estimate, but with a skinny neck, so nothing too big up front. Has anyone used the "pony" rugs advertised?
Try a Fal - they are pricey but the snug fit suits babies, they are warm without being bulky and last FOREVER so it is always Ebay-able afterwards! Cheaper alternative - Cuddly Ponies Club rugs are a really nice shape and stay put well

Mine is in a cuddly ponies one just now but its getting too small but fitted very well. He will probably getting another Rhino Pony Plus(with hood) for this winter. He had one last winter and it was fabulous. I will try an Amigo with hood too.
Zhaazeer has a new Weatherbeeta Landa Original which fits very well. He's 14 months old and wears a 5'3 rug. I don't think it will stay this colour for long though
Thanks for the recommendations. I've been looking at an Amigo pony medium turnout (good price from Derby House - hope I'm not advertising!!) and the pony stable rug too. As long as it's snug and doesn't slide backwards and/or rub his lovely mane off. My mare lost most of the bottom of her mane last year with a Weatherbeeta high, although in every other respect it was perfect. Do full neck covers rub the mane too or is it just the combination of the high neck type (like a Wug) and the arab's high neck carriage?
Hi I too am looking for rugs for a youngster at the moment, I was considering the amigo 600 denier pony medium turnout- I found it even cheaper than derby house with horserugs4u.com its £37.80 They have some other great rugs as well the only problem is deciding which one to get..... Bex.
Amigo is a great fit on my yearling! He has had the 5'3 lightweight in the spring, the 5'6 bug rug during the summer and has now the 5'6 600D lightweight turnout now.
Amigos are good as they arent too deep. I also have a SHires Ponywarma stable rug that fits beautifully - meaning it wont in a few months when Gus grows again!
