My vote goes to the Old Mac G2s. Never had a problem with them and they stay on in all conditions.

I use Easyboots at the moment, either the Epic or the Bares. I don't go off road very fast in them yet though, but they do stay on trotting throguh deep mud.

Those Renegades look good - can you get them in the UK? I've used G2s and they are good

Kizzysmum - cost, partly! I could get them cheaper as my trimmer was able to get them for me. She also had them in her car when she was trimming Khafif and they were the ones which fitted her best. When Khafif no longer needed them I started using them on Shantih and Shefali and they have worked really well. I like the fact the Bares can be adjusted (with a screwdriver handy - not too difficult) so they can be changed to fit either of the two I ride. Khafif was turned out 24/7 at times in the Epics or Bares, depending on how long between trims she was (my Epics are a size bigger) and neither pair twisted, too.

So far, no rubbing when I'm riding in them. If I'm going for a long ride I sometimes use either vet wrap or thin socks under them but I don't bother with that very often and both types of boots have been fine.

What does anyone use if you loose a shoe on a ride. I have used a shoof, but don't find them very easy to put on, can anyone suggest an alternative?

We use Macs on the little Welsh Cob as he is not doing much work - he dishes if you don't 'work' him so out on the roads we thought his boots would wear very unevenly but they're doing great!
No rubs... though I often wonder what to do with his feather - in or out?
