Hi again No her passport is just a run of the mill standard issue passport from the horse passport agency. Nothing special!

Well done and a heeeeowwwge round of applause for taking on this little mare, just so sad she has had such a bad experience. Time is a great healer and am sure your love and care will be repaid.
Keep us all posted on her progress.

Hi Jessica
Small world!! I live in Blidworth and regularly ride round Haywood Oaks!!
Where abouts do you keep her?
I have a similar problem with my mare. She's had a foal and has very loose "lady bits". She has not had any problems but I make sure I keep her clean, especially as she is a bit of a tart where the boys are concerned.

Hey Lucy! Yes it is a small world!
We rent a yard near Haywood Oaks. I'm OFTEN in the woods on my other Arab, Imran! Only been there about 5 weeks so still exploring, but the riding is great! We should meet up and ride one day soon! Bet you know some great routes!
Where do you keep yours?

Hey Pauline, I wouldn't know where to start with The Arab Horse Society! I have got nothing on the mare at all. I have only got this generic passport. It doesnt even have her DOB on there! It doesnt even say she is an Arab!!
Bless her!

Try and get hold of the people that issued the passport they maybe able to help.
You could also put a piece on New owners looking for info, this is further down the list on this forum.
Once we can get a picture on then people may know her.
There are one or two on the Arabdata base that could be her once we can find a little more info.
We will keep looking.

Hi all. Just about to post some photos of Annie, the pneumovagina!! She's been with me for approx 2 weeks now, and her 'lady bits' are actually (for want of a better word) 'plumping' up now. She doesnt have a wet, messy behind...it's dry! Going to post some pictures now. A few of our horses are in the pictures too, so plenty to see!!

First of all well done for rescuing her. A big round of applause.
I would suggest feeding her hay/haylage and a high fibre feed with a broad vitamin and mineral supplement that is assuming her teeth are in a good enough condition for her to chew hay/haylage. Good that she has access to good old Dr Green. Baileys will definitely be able to help you. LoCal is always a good feed to use.
I really wish you and her a happy future. Sorry can't help with the Pneumovagina thing though.
Oooo and lastly welcome to AL. Enjoy! |

So there, we are. She's looking and feeling happier. I'm working with her slowly. Ground work is where its at!! Moving her around, getting her used to carrier bags, tarpaulins, hose pipe etc. She's coming along nicely. I laid across her back and sat on her. When she relaxed I got off...just little building blocks!
Thanks for the advice Pixie. Dr Green is certainly helping her out! I'll post more pictures in a few weeks too!
Her rear isnt so sunken now as she is eating as much as she needs, so I think the Pneumo will be a thing od the past shortly! Fingers crossed!!

Hi Jess and welcome. First of all well done for rescuing this mare. She is beautiful looking. Have you had her scanned for a micro chip? Its a possibility as I can see that she isn't freezemarked. |

Hi there, no I havent had her scanned for a micro chip. Is that something that the vet can do when they visit or is it a little more specialist than that??
Thanks for the welcome too |

Hi
I have seen a mare with this and spoke to a vet and did some research on it. I have saved the document detailing the cause, symptoms and and the decriptipn of the caslisk proceedure. If you would like me to email it to you just send me a PM.
Good luck with her |
