I have one of the foals that Mrs Vlacq refers to- out of a Highland x TB Mare by Shah Shadow.
I fell in love with her when I saw her last year and she is one very special lady! I bought her as a future endurance prospect but hope she will be an allrounder as I do enjoy dressage as well- and a wee pop if I have a sensible horse!
Spangle is also an interesting colour- with a dorsal stripe and at time zebra markings on her legs and all sorts of colours in her mane and tail. She changes with the seasons a bit- and can be very peachy coloured- I guess apricot is a better term- I get confused with fruits!
Her almost full sister has pics on on the Highland Pony Enthusasits forum- as Mrs Vlacq says she is by Vlacq Khazad.

Thanks Sue - I have now applied to join the Highland forum! Just curious about Highlands - I rather fell in love with Emerald when she came to visit Tobago, she's such a lovely girl. So now I want to learn more about this breed. It was nice reading the thread on there about Onyx a while ago - they all seemed to love him, even though some had been very much against the match.
Spangle, if Onyx turns out to be as nice as yours I will be thrilled! I don't think the colour will be very different either, although Onyx appears to have more dun shading on his legs and face - we are just waiting for the last of the foal coat to disappear. I think if he was ever clipped he would appear to be a light mouse dun with red mane and tail, as he has black skin and darker roots.
Thanks Oynx! Interesting he has black skin- Spangles is a pinky skin- not like under white hair but a dark pinky colour. She is two now- when I have shown her I have had lovely feedback- mainly that she should make a lovely riding horse. Spangles leg & face shading changes depending on the time of year- its darker again just now and her zebra stripes becoming more noticeable again.
