Just see the below on another forum - OMG
2 horses stabbed and killed in wales now Horses killed in stab attack
Jul 8 2008 by Matthew Aplin, South Wales Echo
TWO prize-winning horses have been stabbed to death in a vicious attack.
The horses were found laying dead in a field in Llancaiach House Farm, Nelson, early this morning.
The horses’ owner Aron Beck, 26, said: “We are absolutely devastated.”
They were found by a neighbour Denise Murphy, 53, who rang the owners to give them the horrific news.
“Denise rang first thing this morning to say that something had happened,” said refrigeration engineer Mr Beck who is married to Heather Baker, 35.
Mr Beck added: “I myself have been crying for two hours and my wife Heather can’t come to see them because she is so upset.
“It’s a vicious attack and I can’t believe someone would do this to our horses.”
The horses belongs to Mr Beck’s three children, Danielle, 14, Sophie, 12, and Kyan, two.
He said he and Heather had taken Danielle and Sophie out of Afon Taf School in Troedyrhiw early today and they were devastated the by the deaths.
The horses – Murphy, a 14-year-old fell pony, and Jack, a six-year-old cob horse, had won a number of prizes at local showjumping events and gymkhanas.
The family, from Treharris, have owned Murphy for seven years and Jack for two and a half years.
Mr Beck added: “They are completely besides themselves. They can’t bring themselves to come and see the horses.”
He added: “We bought them especially for the children and they can’t believe what happened.”
This morning the police were investigating at the scene of the incident.
Gwent Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
A spokeswoman said: “We can confirm we have had a report that two horses were killed in the Caerphilly area. We are currently investigating the incident.”
There was also another horse in the field but that wasn’t killed.

Words fail me.
It is a known fact that serial killers start off harming/killing animals. This person or persons need to be stopped. Lets hope the police take this as seriously as is obviously needed.
I wonder if it is more than one person, as it seems strange that a horse would stand around while its field mate is being attacked.... I dont know of any person that could outrun a horse.....

I honestly feel sick to my stomach reading this and Kateb is right people who abuse animals go on to abuse people. I really cant imagine what the owners are going through. Those poor sweet, gentle, trusting animals! We had a spate of strange things going on in my old yard, horses were found tied up to the fences and had things tied into their manes - my horses werent there at the time. One horse called Theo which i think is the name of some sort of God was mostly targeted, his name was on his door and all his things.
What would you do if you found the people who did this, i know what i would do!

This just makes my blood run cold, I just cannot stop crying when I read stories like that on Maggies Law website, because I just cannot believe that a human could behave like this. I do feel though that I need to make two points.. One regarding the first 'stabbing' of the palomino stallion in the eye. I was the vet dealing with this stallion, he came to our surgery late at night with a penetrating wound to the eyeball and the contents of his eye pouring down his face. We do not know how this injury happened, however the owner reported that earlier that day another pony of hers had had her mane and tail hacked off. As we were speculating how the injury had happened to the stallion I suggested ( as he is feisty and throws his head around a lot) that PERHAPS if a stranger were trying to cut his mane with scissors he may have accidentally been injured in the eye with the scissors. I am not saying that there is anything OK about hacking a pony's mane off or in anyway minimising the pain suffered by this poor pony or the great distress of his owners. BUT I think we should be careful about how things are reported, I have not spoken to the press and unfortunately was swamped with work on the day the TV wanted an interview. I fully support the stallions owners in their quest to find the sick people whose actions had such devastating consequences for this brave little pony, who by the way is completely full of himself despite the loss of his eye... a real soldier. However I am concerned by the fact that an injury of uncertain cause is reported as a stabbing, then another case occurs nearby, this may be an act of a depraved person, may be two unrelated accidents or may... and this is my worry, be a 'copycat' incident in which case inaccurate reporting may have had serious consequences. My other point is , just to reinforce the message on Maggies Law, the one thing we can do as horse lovers is do all we can to ensure that this sort of horrific crime is taken seriously by the police. In the last few days another client of ours caught a young man breaking into the stable of her old horse on a fairly isolated yard, although there were two men, she managed to grab one and get her daughter to phone the police who, unbelievably, told her to let the man go or she would be the one in trouble!!!! no further action was taken by the police despite our client's pleas, brave action at the time and excellent description of the two men ( one a fat goth with three piercings in his lower lip, the other named Sion/ Shaun). I think we should do all we can to ensure police take these cases seriously and act immediately but maybe we should be careful about propogating inaccurate information and risking copycat crimes... I don't for the life of me understand the motivation for copycat crimes but it does seem to be a recognised pattern. I don't know what the answer is because obviously we all need to be informed so that we can be on guard, and I like you all would defend my precious horses to my last breath. I know nothing of the deaths in Nelson, though my husband works there, it is a good community. IF these deaths are, as reported, murder, then I hope to god the murderer is found soon and punished appopriately. I just despair of the human race sometimes. Lisa |

ps don't want to be responsible for a witch hunt against fat goths but surely this should narrow it down for the police in that area!?

I just dont believe it. It is really worrying.
I think the increase in knife crime on animals is influenced by the increase in youngster with knives. Its all over the news at the moment, knife attacks on people are on the increase, so attacks on animals are unfortunately going to increase also. I hate what this world is coming to sometimes. |

Lisa - thank god for people like you! Right start at the bottom and work my way through - if I was your client I would have let the **** go as advised by the police then smacked him over the head with a shovel! "Oh sorry officer he got kicked by the horse he was trying to steal maim or murder nothing to do wih me!" As for these maimings killings words fail me I used to live in Ammanford so know Kidwelly also know Nelson as well - all I can say is WHY? The owners might have ****ed somebody off but what have these poor horses ever done?????? All I can say is if somebody done it to any of my horses they would not see the light of the following day because I would hunt them down and do to them what they had done to mine. Sorry thats my opinion for what its worth.
