Sorry before i start i am having a moan. We have had a beautiful litter of samoyeds one of which has been pre booked since conception. So i put an ad up for the remaining pups and have had 5 responses since friday evening (very good you might say) but only 1 has been genuine and they sound loveley, 2 have been wanting to swap their adult dogs, another was a very large rott breeder cum potential puppy farm and the other sounded totally weird asking for the adult dogs dimensions as he lived in a flat in london. What is wrong with all these people? This isnt our ffirst litter and already i'm starting to feel like willy wonka in the golden egg room.

They always get sold but unfortunatly she has loads of weard people amongst them Good luck hope you manage to find them lovely homes I love them but i dont think i could fit in another puppy at the moment and i dont think my two german shepherds and my puppy chiquaua would be to happy either |

Hi Kimzi
I too am currently selling a litter of puppies, Italian Greyhounds, and cannot believe the emails I have had from people! Most from people, who to be honest, sound mentally unstable, to say the least!!
On a lighter note, yesterday, we had a lovely couple buy one of our pups, they came all the way up from Suffolk (I live in Cumbria) to see us and to check our home too. I think this is very important and think more prospective buyers should see Mum and Dad and the home environment instead of wasting time sending bloody emails for photographs..!! I am terribly protective of where my puppies go but felt reassured by someboyd wanting to check my home out too!
Good luck with your litter and hope you get good homes for them.

Ive got some puppies at the moment and Im simply dreading the calls, missed appointments etc. Its all part and parcel of it though. Best way Ive found to deter messers is to ask them to bring a utility bill with them and references from their vet. I love samoyeds they always look soo happy! |

It is part of breeding...weeding out the unsuitables. My pups are usually sold very soon after birth, but occasionally I have had to find homes for adult Borders ( no,...not my own!) and some of the wackos you get wanting a Border Terrier......if the 1st thing they ask me if a bitch is spayed then I know hey are thinking "breeding machine". And then you have the ones who want to stick em down a hole to catch a badger.!!!I have a bitch and a 4month dog to rehome and can't bring myself to advertise anywhere, not even at the vets, because I can't face all the nutters calling me...... |

Kimzi - so sorry to hear you are having so much crap same old same old I'm afraid. Word to the wise be careful where you advertise! Fromexperience it wasn't a litter of puppies but 3 young great danes that I had no choice but to re-home - I had 5 Danes all bitches and it got to the stage where it just wasnt practical to keep them - fighting (unfortunately) so I went back to the site where I found them and that was e-pupz (sorry admin dont mean to advertise just help) it is a wonderful site deals exclusively with dogs and you really do get genuine buyers. Way i found to deter time wasters was to put p.o.a. and photos will only be sent to serious enquiries, and all puppies will be sold under contract. Pleased to say that I had a limited response but the ones that replied were all genuine and all 3 pups went to wonderful loving genuine homes far away from here and I know that they are fine because in touch with the owners good luck and I hope you find wonderful homes for your beautiful babies.

Thankyou everyone for your kind words its nice to know there are other human beings. Sorry i spell it chiwawa too (and they are cute). I put poa on the last litter but had so many begging calls that i put the price on this time. I think we have been quite lucky in the past, but it is so worrying, about 2 years ago i had one lady instead of calling me to say that she could no longer keep her bitch advertise it back on epupz (did she think i wouldnt see it?) and we ended up having to call in sammy rescue as she wouldnt return her and it stated in the contract of sale that all dogs must be brought back if owners could no longer keep them. I think that maybe the problems are that dogs are being seen as a fashion accessory or cash cows instead of the good family pets they should be, even though we always add the breeding exclusion it doesnt stop them all. Will keep you posted on any more weirdos. the nice family are coming down from barnsley next sunday so fingers crossed they are as nice in the flesh. |
