Clair I've just read your post on cruising, have you got a note from your mum? School wont be too pleased if your not there! You didn't tell me you were going on holiday but that's ok cause I'm going to start an advice thread for you so you'll know what to pack. I'll find you a nice cozzie to take. You can borrow the one I normally sit in when I'm surfing on me dongle. It's navy and white in a nautical style, its a size 16 but you can always put a safety pin in the staps. Isobel says you can take her waterwings and she has a lovely bucket with bunnies on. My mother (Gladys)has been on a cruise to the Isle of White and she says pack plenty of pies in case its that foreign muck on the buffet. Don't forget to wear your life belt at all times, especially if you see an iceberg and you'll be alright. Oh and don't under any circumstances call the capt - Popeye, he wont like it because of course his name is Birdseye. I'm sure all your horsy friends can all suggest what to pack, can't you folks? All for now i am off to bed at the twilight home for retired nutters and caravanners. See you tomorrow bout 5.30ish?

Clair, never fear i've been having a really good think about how I can best advise you on your forthcoming Titanic moment. I had hoped all theses wonderful horsey people would have come forward to help you prepare with advice on what to take and how to act. They are obviously too stressed with horsey topics so I have done some research on your behalf and come up with this advice. Special terms you may hear around the ship may confuse or alarm you so I've put them into simple every day language.
* Ship ahoy! this means that another ship is on a colision course with yours.
* Shiver me timbers! this means the shivering you get after you've been sea sick! *Ah ahh me hearties! this is the term you use to great fellow diners
*Poop deck - self explanatory this is the deck with all the toilets on.
*Swab the decks - this takes place when some one loses a contact lense.
I hope this clarifies naval language. I am sure I may have left some terms out. I am sure however our good friend on the forum will fill in any gaps I've left. |

And a cleat,I said C L E A T is something the rope gets held by....Flares arent trendy theyre DISTRESS signals.........on a much more practical front tho.....G&T tastes even better on a choppy sea(or indeed a calm one)and if you dont get a bit squiffy and tell someone(pref not the capt)you love them, then you have officially had a rubbish time |

Souwester! you'll need one of those. Long wellies or waders, lots of cotton wool....in case you are asked to swab the deck. If the sun comes out don't forget to take some big hankies to tie on your head. Or if your posh (Nah) you could take a head scarf. I'll keep thinking. |
