I have not been a member for as long as some people on here but I wondered could anyone tell me what has happened to the online magazine . The issues seem to have stopped in December 2006. This is not a criticism just an enquiry. Just thought I would ask as it seemed a really interesting part of the site 
Also some parts are still under Construction is this "work in Progress" LOL

It hasn't changed since I joined early last year, maybe the powers that be haven't the time to update it |

It was started by Paula (admin),to accomodate a modern approach to magazines in the form of an online magazine, unfortunately although people loved to read it there was not enough backing from advertisers to warrent the workload involved, as I am always saying use it or lose it. seems you lost it! |

Thanks for that information Lindilou
thats such a shame for it to go by the way. It looked so interesting and informative. Paula I am sure that you are really busy but is there a small chance that it could be started again.
I am not in the "Horse Business" or a big breeder but I would be willing to contribute something., even time etc. I suppose the same applies to the Shop and Property section, time, money or interest from advertisers.

Well, I think we should pay a small fee to use this forum.
That may go towards it, a little.
Why should we take, and not give a little back.??
especially those of us that do not advertise, so do not contribute, and that includes me.
I have thought this for sometime, and I know I shall be receiving an email repremanding me, from Paula, but I have broad shoulders!!
A magazine can only be done if theres something to put in it.
And as the saying goes; 'None of us can live on fresh air'. |

I have always thought we should pay to use this forum. I belong to other paying forums, but use this one much more, as it is more informative, and a lot friendlier

This was my point Pat I would be willing to contribute and I think that it would also bring people into the site because they would have contributed , be it time or money. No one is trying to take over I just thought that it was a shame that something so interesting seemed to have been lost. Please dont shoot me down in flames I know that every body is going to struggle for the next foreseable future but as Lindilou said in her post use it or lose it.
Someone once asked me the meaning of Ingnorance and Apathy? answer Dont know Dont care well I am sure that we all care otherwise we would not be members of this site.
Oh my goodness did not mean for this to get so heavy I was just enquiring about a magazine LOL going to go away now and hide

I know what you meant, and I agree.
Perhaps I did not explain very well.
I mean, if folk dont send in interesting articles, and advertise, there is not a lot else to go in.
All this, even when together takes a lot of time to make up a magazine.
I just thought, if we non advertisers, paid a minimal amount for the forum, that would go toward the cost.
If a paid advert, or banner etc, has been placed then that gives that person use for that year.
I am not sure if it could work, but I know Paula,s going to kill me!! |
