Wow! You both look fabulous! And how lucky are you to be having lessons with Andrew - have you been training with him for a long time? What level are you competing at? You must be well pleased.

How exciting! And did he ask you to thrust at all? Actually, seriously, what did he say? |

Thought i'd try and answer everyone's questions in one go rather than replying to everyone if that's ok
We only started having lessons and competing about 18 months ago (we're late starters) and I have a regular trainer but like to have the odd one with Andrew every month or so to do some different stuff. This lesson was meant to be to put our floor plan together for our Dressage to Music debut (yet to be decided) but we spent so much time chatting that we didn't really get round to it, so that's one for another day.
Last year we started unafilliated Prelims and moved onto Novices. We did really well and were placed every time out even managing a couple of wins, until in October Pasha spooked out on a hack and fell over on the road with me. He basically had October to March off, with the odd hack thrown in, as he was injured. We started having lessons again and we've just started to introduce some collected work. We're also now working on more advanced lateral moves and started half pass and travers
Our problem is me - i'm a complete stress head at competitions and fall to peices, so having not competed for 7 months in anything at all, we went to our first affiliated Prelim on his 21st birthday (I posted a report and pictures a couple of pages back). He did really well despite me riding like a numpty to get 61.2% and come 3rd.
We're going to stick to Prelim for the moment until I can control my nerves enough to get through a test without losing it and then we'll move back up to Novice and I hope to start Elementary by the end of the year too.
Thank you all so much for your kind comments
Arachnid - Andrew put my stirrups up 2 holes, put Pasha's bit up 2 holes and tightened his noseband!!! He said I over analyse everything and I just have to get on with it now!! I said it's easy for you to say, which it is But he is right! Pasha can do everything and i've just got to get on and enjoy HIM whilst I still can! He didn't say much about my riding other than i've got to relax (can you tell i'm a stressful person?) |
