Totally my fault as I was casually leaning on Shida's bottom chatting when she decided there was a monster in the stall with her and jumped backwards right onto my foot and reared up breaking her rope but it took her some time to do it so had full weight on me for what seemed like ages! She then stood looking like butter wouldnt' melt whilst I hopped around in total agony. After my friend put her away and helped me to her car she was banging indignantly cause not only had we not gone for a ride but she didn't get her farewell carrot. My foot has doubled in size and I can't walk or drive and certainly can't ride! On the plus side can't go to work either but it does really hurt Just shows however well you know your neddy they can't be taken for granted!

Hope you feel better really quick.. and yes agree we do tend to take them for granted/trust to often.. my daughters mare twice a day we lead her out of the main yard into her stable we do this just by resting a lead rope on her neck or by holding onto her mane.. well resting a hand on her neck!!!! She walks routinely straight out yard into her stable.. Last week Danika just let her out as thought she would do as she has for last 3 years without resting her hand on her!!!.. I did say /shout dont be stupid but to late!!!! She p**** off at the speed of light and if anybody had been stood in the gateway at the time she would have knocked into them into paddock 3ft+ high with lush grass which took us 10 mins to catch her!!! |

O U C H - think I'd be tempted to have it X-rayed, just to make sure nothing is broken. Hope it gets better soon. |

I spent all morning in a&e but thankfully nothing broken although it is still very swollen and painful. I can at least put a very small amount of weight on it but am mainly crawling round the house or hopping. I do have some crutches so will go into the office tomorrow but never realised how tricky they are. I do admire people with broken legs cause this is bad enough! And I was meant to be doing dressage on Saturday so bang goes that idea. Also wanted to do a Le Trec comp on 28th but have no idea if i'll be better by then. So annoying especially when it's my own fault!! |
