Hi
Is there some sort of nasty Virus going abount in the UK that I could have picked up whilst over there? I came back from the UK on the 2nd May went down with flu like symptoms and a temp of 103% for three days went to the Doc's who gave me AB +++ but although I felt a little better not right and then I got Tonsilitus that's now better but I still have a bit of a chest virus sore/cough not exactly feeling great this is now 4 weeks!! I have heard of a few people getting very poorly for weeks over there, is this it? only I'm getting a bit fed up now and perhaps I need to visit the Doc's again but I need to know if there is anything going about first.

So sorry Beryl! I think when you have stress/problems it reduces our immun system and you just pick up any virus going. Hope you feel better soon! |

I still have nasty tickly cough but aparently this hangs around after woulds for a while. We both also had severe conjunctivitus with ours.. unless thats just a added lergy she decided to pass onto mwa!!! So much for being a good friend.. but then she did share!!! |

Got it in January, was terrible. A slight tickly cough remained for 10 weeks. The type that makes you cough all of a sudden til you gip. Quite embarrassing in public. Thought it was all over and then the nasty little virus has got me again. Started 2 weeks ago, fever, swollen glands, major snot, deaf, runny eyes, cough, not much voice (lucky for some). I have found, each time I go abroad it starts a few days before and ruins the trip. Could this be the stress/excitment lowering imune system before travel? or just bad luck? Taking all kind of vits and tried vicks first defence. Any other ideas, except live in a bubble, to avoid this again? |
