if you use a car battery apart from a nasty shock it is unlikely to cause harm...also if you put up a warning sign beware electric fence legally you are covered.. also put up 'no tresspassing' 'private property' if they do go to the police to complain they have to explain what they were doing tresspassing on private property anyway...and give a name and address
