I've never taken off Po's feathers so they're quite long now. I'd like to clip them for the summer but I want to show her too. I've checked on the AHS website under the new 2008 rules and I'm pretty sure it's ok, but just want to double check.
Is it ok to remove feathers? Don't want to be sent out of the showring in shame!
yes, it's ok to do so (ruling is on 'tactile hair'). They look best if given a couple of weeks to settle down, depending on the coat in general... We have a very classy partbred mare, nad her babies are lush too, but they all have beards! Needless to say they are clipper trained from young!
