You don't say what sort of chiropractor. Have you tried a McTimony chiropractor. They just about saved my life.........well, exagerating slightly, maybe! Mum had to drive me there as my back had got so bad I could lie down or stand up and not much more. I had the car seat fully reclined (I'm nr Oxford to the other side of Gloucester)and after the treatment I could get in the car and sit up with no problem, though, obviously it took several treatments to convince my muscles to stay out of spasm. It's a really gentle (usually) treatment. They are usually in a local 'phone book and have a logo of a centaur (1/2 man, 1/2 horsr type of chap). I really feel for you ( no pun intended) and hope you feel better soon. |

Seriously hit rock bottom today, to the point of I wonder who would miss me if I dissapeared I feel very tearful all the time, which is unlike me I had a lovely ride out with Zeb yesterday, the first in ages and that lifted me for a short while, but really hit the lowest I've ever been today.
What with Sheppi and money problems I feel I am trapped. On the flip side my boss has got a tiny bit better, but I feel very alone and turn my thoughts to where I'd go or what I would do.
Please help me |

Oh Geena you do sound unhappy. PM me if you'd like to. Things just CANNOT be this bad, I just won't let them. Come on girl, you can get through this. Thinking about you and don't know how to help but I do care. |

Hey Geena
Come up and spend an evening with me. We can wander around the farm, and you can get the chance to see all of Sarah's new foalies.
Sounds like you are having a rough time, and perhaps time away from the everyday routine is just what you need.

Who would miss you if you disappeared.
Well we would Zebedee would Sheppi would
You'd be surprised whose life you touch along the way. No more disappearing thoughts please. Life will get better. You have to have down bits so that you really appreciate the good bits when they happen.
I'm sorry you are sad and hurting Geena. You really must go and talk to your doctor. Do you have any family or close friends you could talk to face to face?
If you look you will have many good things going on in your life its just that you have lost perspective - understandably so. Now go and look in that mirror and tell yourself what a good human being you are. Go on. Don't look at me like that. Go on get to that mirror. Every hour tell yourself something positive. No matter how shallow. I'm serious. No buts. Do it. By the end of the day you will feel a bit better and by the end of the week who knows
In the meantime if i can help you I will.
Take care of yourself girlie.
Thinking about you. x |

Hello Geena, it's very difficult to know what to tell you, because advice is hard to follow when you're feeling so low. You've already heard some very wise words in the above posts and I can't think what else to say. I know when I get down at times, I keep telling myself this won't last, I WILL feel better tomorrow and I try to focus on all the positive things in my life and do stuff I enjoy. We all feel down sometimes, it's natural for most of us, but at the minute Geena, you have an awful lot on your plate and perhaps as Pixie has already said a chat with your GP, if you feel you can, may help. See? I am rubbish at helping people, but I had tears in my eyes from reading your post this morning and I just wanted to let you know that my heart really does go out to you. I wish I could be of more use to you, but just try and keep going Geena - you WILL come through this. Big hugs and positive vibes coming your way from me.x |

Thank you all so much for your support. It means alot to me.
Paul I may take you up on that offer, but I always feel like a time waster when I come down so I would inssist I had to do some jobs!
As for the suggestion I have booked a doctors appointment after my physio on Wednesday. I thought it was giving in booking an appointment but you guys have made me seen the light that it is just temporary help.
Thank you all once again, where would I be without my A-line friends |

Big Hug Off to the docs & tell them exactly how you feel, even something as simple as an impartial ear can make you feel so much better. Get it all off your chest..tearful can be good at times it's release. Go & visit Paul and help out, I always find the more I have to do the less I can dwell on things. Being 'useful' is a very positive thing So many other people have far better advise than me...so chin up chuck xxx |

Oh bless you Geena..NEVER EVER feel alone! We are always here for you honey! Pain is an awful thing to have to live with plus the pressures of life in general. Get to the Drs, you will feel so much better for talking to them, and they can hopefully help you out with a few things. Have you got a Bowen therapist near you, I have finally used one after the physio, chiro etc and for the first time in years I dont have sciatic pain! I hope Sheppi is feeling abit better today, chin up my love and always feel free to get in touch!! Leighxx |

Geena... if this is the lowest you can go, if you've hit rock bottom, then there is only one way to go now and that is up and up again....
Deal with one thing at a time, and what can't be dealt with right now, leave it until you can...
Don't let things consume you... one life remember... make it a good one...
thinking of you....
...and get yourself to pauls! I'd jump at the chance to see his new baby and his beauties!! He's a very kind man and might be a good ear, with lots of good advice xxx |

Geena I dont know you but I do know how you feel. It will get better. Take the advice and help of all of your friends on AL, speak to your doctor and dont hold back. The fact that you are asking for help is a really good sign and shows that you want things to change.
In time you will look back on this time in your life and feel stronger for it because you will know how to deal with the lows. Take control of your feelings and own them - they belong to you and only you can change them.
Keep your head high but dont be frightened to have a really good sob! Loads of love and hugs coming your way.

Hi Geena, Hope you are feeling better. I've had back problems for almost 10 years now and I'm 21(pins and needles, headaches, spasms etc) and after trying physio with not much luck I went to an osteopath, they work on bones and muscles and gave me so much help and advice, different things to do at home and worked with the prescribed tablets I was on. Pilates is also AMAZING - quite a difficult work out, but great for core muscles and back strength! Would recomend it to anyone! If theres anything I can do to help just ask - know lots of easy exercises, but I know how horrible it is - when your back hurts everything hurts! Amy. |

Thanks Pixie you are such a sweetie.
I am a bit better today but I have an unplanned meeting with one of the ladies in the office who also is the MD's partner, luckily enough she is really nice and said she is concerned about me and wants a chat and to catch up as she has been on maternity leave.
I really want to ride tonight but I am still numb and aching after Sunday's ride. I think another thing that has contributed is I haven't had time to tend to our garden 3/4 of an acre of ground to strim as we have to pony to mow it anymore and it is knee high already. I want to get it done but both strimmer and mower broken, no money to fix and I also know I will ache like hell after doing 20mins! I do want is nicer for summer so we can enjoy the garden and not think it is a chore.
Maybe I should have a gardening party, but knowing my luck no-onw would turn up |

Its a shame you are not closer because I have a mower in the shed that you could borrow. Can't you just borrow a mower. Not that a mower is going to solve your problems health and sheppi wise but if it would make you smile you could have borrowed my mower. Alas you are not round the corner. Someone who lives near Geena go on lend her your mower or your sheep or goats. you know you want to. |

Just outside Exeter in Devon.
I was going to get some goats to help eat grass but they were another thing to buy, sadly no-one wants to give them away.
I am selling loads of horse stuff on ebay and hopefully put an ad on here to, to help raise money for Sheppi's operation as vet has just said it will be £297 |

Hi
Have PM'd you
Now, sheep are better at grazing than goats, goats are foragers, hedges etc sheep actually graze. Contact your local sheep farmers and offer them grazing for some of their sheep, thats what we used to do. The local farmer would bring up 6 sheep graze them for a while then swap them for some others
Think I missed your thread about sheppie, whats up? |
