Does anyone have any information on any of the above? I have an unregistered mare out of Leopard Lilly. I would just like some information about her mother's side as I have a copy of her sire's pedigree. A Mrs Muir attempted to register my mare in 1995 (she was born 1993) but what the problem was I don't know. The AHS were not overly helpful when I contacted them. Any info gratefully recieved. Thanks in advance.

Sorry no info just leaving the link, althoughLotus Flower rings bells with me....Any one check if there is any other progeny from this mare, as only two listed on allbreeds.

Thanks for that link. Much appreciated. It's interesting to find out about her breeding even if I can't register her.

Liriope (Edeon x Lotus Flower) was bred by Patrica Lindsay so you might get somewhere in contacting her. They are based near Okehampton, Devon I think.

There is no one to stop you adding your mare to the allbreeds site, you can leave a note to read she is unregistered. I think you would need to produce a service cert to register her, although I have no idea what the up todate register requirments are..anyone tell us please, just in case this mare could get her Part Bred status.

Surely this mare could get part-bred status on her sire,s side only. I had to do this with my first mare's offspring. I was able to change her offspring to purebred when I eventually found her papers.

With regard to registering her. I have a copy of the covering certificate, I assume the original was sent to the AHS when Mrs Muir attempted to register her. I have letter to Mrs Muir from the AHS stating that the registration is pending. Hadeeya, my mares sire is dead and Leopard Lilly was sold on without papers due to some dispute. The AHS are aware of everything that happened apparently, but unless I could provide DNA they would not do anything. I have sent them everything I have and her breeder Mrs Burt also wrote to them on my behalf but nothing was forthcoming.

I should push them on this registration, don't let them drag their feet, It will be a great pity if this mare is not recorded.Maybe you should chase them up and find out about the DNA angle....Sue

PS, It was Allegra Lily I know..so not related.

l would get back to them...sometimes these things take time..

l would also assume that the sire had a stallion liencence so he should be blood typed and entered the DNA is a new thing and if the stallion died before that was brought in you can hardy be expected to produce it

good luck

I would also think you could ask for the covering cert back, if they have it. This happened to me with my coloured mare, she was registered with the British Horse Database and they folded, but they had her Covering Cert on file, so I asked for it back and got it, this enabled me to register her with the Sports HorseGB.

A belated thank you for the photos. My computer is dead as the modem blew-up! I haven't been on here since. Work also removed our ability to use the internet, (not that we abused it at all!) Have recently got in touch with the person that owned Lilly as a yearling and she will hopefully be coming to see her in the near future.
Thanks again for the photos.

I have the 1991/1992 Stud directory.
At that time Leopard Lily was owned Mr Boynton Wood at Hollon hill , Ripon, in North Yorkshire.
I recognised the name, & as I'm from Yorkshire I wonder if they showed her as I used to show my horses during that era?

I am more than certain that Flying Light and Lotus Flower were or are Patrica Linday's, she would be more than happy to give you further info if you get in contact with her. They are based in Hatherligh, Devon.

Yes, you are right about Flying Light - he was Patricia Lindsays.
I adore her horses, & if ever I was looking to buy one I'd definitely have an ancestor of Lotny.
