Can anyone help me please? I have owned the lovely Fayrelands Mountain Maestro (a 26 year old palamino gelding) for the last 16 years. I want to get a second horse and wondered if anyone knew what has become of the Fayrelands stud and its horses? It would be wonderful to get Max's companion from similar bloodlines if possible. Grateful for any info - thanks in advance!

I have a Fayrelands Offspring! My lad is by Fayrelands Dancing Magic, who sadly passed away in 2004 I think. He is out of Zyda Golden Folly and a lovely palomino too. I bought him last August and he will be 13 this year.

I don't think the Fayrelands Stud is going anymore, but there are some very good brains on here that really know their stuff with regards to palomino's in the UK. No doubt they will be able to assist you with everything you need to know.

There are lots of palomino's advertised for sale on The Palomino Society's website.

SarahW has Fayrelands Mountain Mayfly & a couple of her daughters who im sure are infoal.
The Fayrelands stud stopped breeding years ago ,Mr Hassel who owned Fayrelands Dancing Magic lives in Derbyshire & has The Pewit Stud & his friend Mr Thornhill has the Zyda stud , im sure they`d still have some of Magic`s stock .

Hi
Yes we have Fayrelands Mountain Mayfly (23 yrs old) with us who I assume is a full sister to your boy - (Quadeha / Montana Princess) and three of her daughters all of which are in foal for palomino babies this year. We also have a son of hers on livery Sameon Golden Legacy.

Hi Maggie and welcome.

Yet another Fayrelands addict! I know that feeling well. I have owned Fayrelands Hawaiian Dawn for 18 years (she is now 25) and had the same compulsion to purchase a close relative. I managed to get a young filly by Shulay Faberge who was out of Fayrelands Silver Lace. Faberge now stands in Denmark but there are some of his babies around. If you look on Rainbow Arabians website there are some lovely pictures on there.

I did visit the Fayrelands stud around 1989 when Quadeha was still alive. I took some video footage which I really must find and post. Carol Banks was running the stud down then. She just had two old broodmares left (Mayqueen and Fayrelands Hawaiian Lady)and a couple of fillies (one a full sister to Fayrelands Dancing Magic and the other a purebred Arab out of Mayqueen).

The last horse registered on Allbreeds is Fayrelands Snowprince b. 1991 so I dont think you are going to be able to get a Fayrelands horse now I am afraid.

I know that my mare's full brother Fayrelands Hawaiian Lad (b. 1990) is still competing and winning regularly in Western classes.

The best way to get a relative is to look for offspring of Fayrelands Dancing Magic (most will be either Zyda or Pewit prefixes), or to go and visit Sarah W for one of her babies because they are GORGEOUS

I really regret not breeding from my lovely old girl. They are all very special horses and we are very lucky to have been owned by them for so long.

Can you post a picture of Maestro for us.
Best wishes
Debbie

Thank you so much for all this info and so much friendly help! What a wonderful way to meet and chat to Arab enthusiasts - and what a great way to learn. I hope to get in touch with Sarah to see if I could visit - it would be so nice to see Max's little sister. And I'll get some pics of Max this weekend and post them next week.
Debbie is spot on - aren't we lucky to have these lovely horses as our best friends?

Thanks Debbie

Maggie
You would be more than welcome to see daughters and grandaughters and the three more grandchildren due this year. We also have another mare out of Fayrelands Silver lace due early June.

Hi Maggie,
Carol Banks is still living where she was all those years ago at the stud in Warwickshire, the address is the same on your registration certificate. I am sure if you give her a ring she would put you in the right direction where some of the offspring are.
Good luck.
