Having recently re-discovered ours (Kenwood - was top of the range in its day - quite a few years ago now) & started making bread again (& cakes!) - anyone got any good/foolproof recipes??????
white bread - best and simplest: half pint water 1 and quarter teaspoons salt one pound strong white flour 1 teaspoon fast acting dried yeast if liked, add 1 teaspoon spreadable butter - I use L*RP*K, improves keeping qualities
bake as standard large white loaf. On my breadmaker I set to darkest crust as without powdered milk it is a bit pale.
I've had by bread maker a couple of years now..... and it's still in the box!!!! I moved it into the kitchen last week to remind myself about it Maybe I'll be tempted now????
Judith-use the standard white large loaf recipe( 1lb flour/300ml water and milk mixed/1and half teaspoon Doves dried yeast/3teaspoons sugar/1 and half teaspoon salt/1oz butter........and just add poppyseeds or sunflower seeds or cheese..or chopped sunblushed toms in oil......I do one loaf a every two days to add to the 10 YES TEN!! loaves I buy.
Oh Judith, it's lovely at your house to start with, but if you're cooking home made bread and cakes then I really wish I'd come back to the UK for my vacation again this year so I could have come for another visit!!! ;-)
I have a Morpy Richards Fast Bake.... Love it..... I could send you some recipes, not going to type them out, as my book is for various sizes of loaves 1lb, 1.5lb and 2lb. Have you tried google? they may have a pamphlet on line for your particular make of bread maker. Paul
