I have a patch of white hairs on the side, and I am glad I cannot see the back because I am sure I have a large patch of white hairs there as well ... I just tell my hair dresser to colour them in and not tell me how bad the situation has got! I got white hairs when I was fairly young too, but they didn't multiply until I was over 35! Or at least I try and convince myself that. Now I am 38 and they are just evil little things .. grrrr ... It has been a downward spiral since 35, hairs on the head getting whiter and the ones on my lip getting darker, the ones on my eyebrows getting bushier and the ones on my chin getting more like grandma's ... its no joke!

You lot are outrageous....... Im a natural red head or rather used to be ive been dying it for so long now Ive not seen it for years, I do know my hairdresser says I have a lot of grey & blonde. As for grey elsewhere.....wouldn`t know, always tried to keep a tidy garden myself..... As for having my fufu glued..... how bizarre......what are they made from. I know hair extensions are made from real hair but surely, please god tell me merkins are synthetic......

Ah Patricia - a most encouraging post I'm 47 & have long, very thick red hair - still a lovely colour with just a b1t of blondy bits on the temples & scattered thoughout! I've never coloured my hair - well would you after seeing what happened to Anne Of Green Gables when she tried to dye her red hair???!!!!! My mother was a red head & ended up blonde/white in her 70's So am hoping to hand onto my colour for as long as possible & NO I will not try dying it to stay red!!!

I have grey hair have had some since about the age of 27. Cos my natural hair colour is very dark brown (almost black) it shows up a lot so I have to dye my hair quite regularly!
Edited to say - I am now 31 |

I found my first grey hairs when I was 18!!! I'm now 36 and if my amazing hairdresser friend didn't work her magic I would be very grey mainly along my parting but just about everywhere now. She puts a semi permanent brown on and then I have red slices put in which just show through my layers. She has been doing it like for a few months now and everyone loves it.
Here is a very close close up!

LOL, I am happy to show these pix and I am quiet open about everything, My daughter gave me this as a christmas present, I once told her I didnt feel as old as I looked, ( I was shocked to get the gift voucher in the post at christmas All or most of my friends are younger than me and I just felt younger in their company. I dont think it has anything to do with vanity, ( though some will not agree) more about self image I am the first one to laugh at myself and make a fool of myself for a laugh, hence the merkin on my head |

I am 47 and have no grey hairs yet, although my tache is blonde, my grandad died when he was 82 with jet black hair and no grey,I'm hoping to be like that, hair wise, if not I can always comb some dark havanna leather edge stain into it to cover the grey up. Looked up those merkins as you lot got my curousity going, showed a friend on another forum and now she wants one coloured like a Zebra! Don't ask! Oz :) |

still waiting to see Nicks photos of the cat they've named Merkin!
I'd love to buy my mum a pressie like that (not a merkin - I'm refering to lyndas post!!!) she has always wanted a tummy tuck - she blames me for her tummy, as i was the biggest and the last one out!! Unfortunately, my measley nhs wage won't stretch that far!!!
I love seeing all those types of photos... I was watching a cosmetic surgery programme once but OH came over quite queasey!! now i'm banned whilst he's in the house!! He faints at the slightest thing! Fainted whilst giving blood once - I was very embarrassed as there would loads old ladies laughing at him!!! |

ooooooooo lynda - nooooooooooooooooooooooooo - omg how much did that hurt. still it was clearly worth it. good on you - you look fab. i don't think you should have a merkin you've been through enough stress and pain in your life already. |
