Hi all, Carrying on with the Asil Arabian Thread. I have an old Mare who is by The Sundancer of Asil. I bought her as a 2yo from a small dealer in High Cross, Ware, Herts and have had her for 27 years this year. She is Springfields Dancing Folly (Sundancer Of AsilxDevon Finni) Dont know anything about her dam but as you can see she is not the trademark palomino but Chestnut. When I went to look at her the dealer had two Palomino youngsters who he said were also by Sundancer of Asil. I have done loads with this mare in her younger days mainly SJ and XC which she adored. She has been the best pony ever with the sweetest of nature. The pics were taken in the Autumn last year the second one with my daughter on board.
May you go on for ever dear Folly.
Jackie. x

Bless her. She looks a lovely old girl and doesnt look her age. I hope you have many more happy years together. I remember a lovely picture of The Sundancer of Asil cantering across a hillside with his pure white mane blowing the in wind. He was a very dark gold - almost chestnut. Did you get to see him when you bought Folly? Debs |

Hi Debs, Unfortunately I never got to see him in the flesh. Some years ago I read an article in the Essex rider magazine by a lady who had rescued him from a home where he was being ill treated and had become a shadow of his former self. She had nursed him back to health and wanted to here from anyone owning any of his offspring. I wrote and told her of my Folly and she kindly sent me some photos of him. His color was really amazing and as you say so dark he was allmost chestnut. Jackie. x |

Hi she looks lovely , My old mare had sundancer of Asil/Romance of Asil in her pedigree. She originally came from Watton at stone so very near to where you got her from. I lost my old mare five years ago at the age of 21. |

Hi, Yes Timberwolf i bought her from twin ladies at the age of eight months, They bred her from there mare Aryan chinook. She was a real madam from a foal. Went through so much to get her to have manners. She was brilliant with my daughters. She could be very sharp. She was only shown a few times but she alway did excellent. I showed her at Nazeing show with foal at foot and she won the parts then the championship under Dr P Gazder. Could really move and had excellent confirmation. She taught me so much. Mind you even up to her late age she used to still manage to do things that would catch me out. She had great knack of dropping her shoulder if she shyed at something and i exited. Even up to year before she died she managed to break my should lol My husband used to call her the boss because if she went at another horse they knew to look out. Her double barrelling was done with precision I think there name was I and M Deards, They bred her but could not cope with her. when i bought her they said she used to pull all of them down the road at the age of 7 months. My mum begged me to get rid of her. She said she was a real cow. When we lost her five years ago not one of us didnt cry as she was such a huge part of our life. I lost it for a while after she died. But she has given me a huge amount of memories and she is the one that made me love Arab to this day |
