I had a beautiful Weimaraner bitch many years ago from Weimaraner Rescue, my kids were 3 and 5 years old at the time, and this dog was the most kind, friendly, gentle person ever. I totally disagree that Wei's are vicious - it's like any dog, how you bring them up is what counts, although we were so lucky with ours who came from Rescue. She lived till 9 years old when sadly we lost her to a brain haemmorage, bless her. Hope you find a good home soon for this boy, I would have him like a shot if I didn't work full time ... |

Only just seen this , we had wei's 30years ago and they were wonderful dogs, very loyal, and protective, they would let visitors in , but not let them out! until they knew you, so needed a firm approach, my mothers bugie could pick her wei's teeth for him, (it was an unusual bugie)as he lay on the floor, but be aware they need a lot of exersize and they never grow up! much like springers and other gundogs, the american influence for large things has meant the breed standard has changed since we had them, and therewas a problem with epilepsy amongst the dogs carrying the long haired gene, I don't know how many long haired ones there are these days, we bred one, but then found out its grandfather also carried epilepsy and we stopped breeding, they look like a retriever but grey, and with lovely blue eyes. I hope this one finds a good home ,they are very rewarding if you have the time and energy for them. |

Hiya
I spoke to Kevin last night (Duncan's brother in law) and he said that Buddy and Duncan arrived home to beautiful rural Scotland safely. By all accounts he was happy and settled, ate his tea and was busy meeting the rest of the family.
They are a lovely dog knowledgable family and I hope Buddy is really happy there. Farm life by the beach sounded a pretty idillic home to me
