Hi..does anyone know of a stallon with indian magic bloodlines? He was the grandsire of my first horse who was put down in 2000 aged 28. I have a tb mare who I would love to put in foal with a crabit with indian magic bloodlines (if I am brave enough to do it!)

Hi, I recommend Indian Banner, he's 100% Crabbet stallion & is a Grandson of Indian Magic (Dam side) & also has Indian Magic on his Sire line, he will have frozen Semen available next year (he's 25 now!). I have used him on my mares this year & he is a lovely boy, if you would like his owners contact details give me an e-mail.

I would second Indian Banner, i saw him as a foal and then again at the last Crabbet Convention, cross well with a TB I would think.
Have you got a copy of the Convention catalogue? just a quick glance is throwing up an enormous wish list (lucky you ) Bright Cavalier (details on another thread) Indian Fanfare, grey, 1986 who is straight Crabbet, double Indian Magic (sounds interesting) Indian Idyll chestnut 1990 Imad Daas Iyad Istfahan I could go on! |

We have a 99% stallion (Last Crescendo x Templars Magic Pearl 100%) - Templars Orchestral Pearl that Dr June loved and she described him as Indian Magic reincarnated. He's 15'3" and wonderful. Just starting his eventing career and enjoying himself. A truly "magical" horse and my best friend. |

What are 'templers' paces like? My lovely old horse had wonderful extravagent floating paces, and when he did extended trot it felt like you were flying. I;ve never sat on another horse like it. When I saw pictures of Indian magic, it was like looking at my 'Summerguest', which is why I am attracted to his bloodlines. My tb is 15.3hh and has an incredible laid back nature (I bought her for my daughter when she was 11) Daughter is now 14 and into other things. So tempted to breed from her to try and produce an anglo around 15.3 with paces suitable for dressage. I must admit though that I find the whole breeding process and having a youngster quite daunting...with all the things that could go wrong. Do the professional breeders out there....get hardened to the risks? |

I bred my first foal, an anglo, last year and as long as you are sensible and have done your reading, have the correct facilities and are not worried about asking for help then there is nothing more rewarding. |
