As you already know we have been very fortuante to secure a stand at your horse live (9th to 11th November).
I lot of you were keen to help -
So -Can anyone supply\lend any "Display boards" - they would need to be either brought to Stoneleigh on the Thursday - or to me (just outside manchester) before then (& collected afterwards)
We also need a horse to "exhibit"
It needs to be:
- A good example of the breed
- Very sensible
- Fully vacinated
& Whos owners would be prepared to bring it either Thursday PM or Early friday morning - and stay with it for the duration - looking after it & excercising it before & after the halls are open to the public.

I could bring my stallion or his son if you want for the three days but not sure he would be the 'type' you are looking for.

Jayne,
What do you need the horse to do? Stand there and be good with the public?
I could offer Dennis, he's so friendly he'd love the attention but maybe not enough pazzaz for showing off the breed? |

Vera - They just have to Stand in their stable!

So sorry we couldnt organise bringing Elustarius ( Jack ) for the weekend, just bad timing for me. But thank you for thinking he would be the perfect exhibit.
He would have loved to have met everyone too !

As you know - we really-really wanted to use Elustarius - He would have been a fabulous example - & He has won so much this year!
Maybe next time we might have more notice!

I do have some Exhibit boards I could lend you,the type that would sit on a table - they have a carry case as well. I'm down in Essex though and not coming up your way between now and Your Horse Live. If anyone is coming past though that could get them to Jayne I would be more then happy to make arrangments for them to be collected.
Myself and a friend will be going to Your Horse Live on the SAturday so I look forward to seeing the stand there and would be happy to cover for lunch/toilet breaks if needed

I'm sorry too that Caroline couldn't take Jack (Elustarius) but I insisted she honour our holiday arrangements and fly to South America with me! I've told her she has to console herself with him being your original choice, I know he would have loved it, but I hope you have a very successful show anyway.

Jayne - if you need any other ideas for what to do on the stand email me (tabitaseagrave[at]hotmail[dot]com) - happy to help in any way I can.
Some ideas:
Competitions - people love to put their names forward for winning stuff, great way for studs/trainers/shows to promote themselves, win a private stud visit, win a 1-hour show training session, or endurance training session, or 1-hour with a show judge, or entry for a show or competition next year. Could even be win a book about the arab breed (if anyone is willing to donate one), or an arab inhand halter etc.
Showing versatility - pics/info on the stand walls and in flyers about 'the arab as an eventer', 'the arab as a dressage horse', 'the arab as a pleasure horse', 'the arab as a show horse', 'the arab as an endurance horse', with some pics of people doing well in these areas. 'I'm not just a pretty face' type stories.
Promoting sales of arabs nationwide - stud lists, list of all arabs on AL for sale (with owners/studs consent to be included of course), information about where to go to buy your arab.
I'm sure I can think of more if needed... |

Some great ideas here - we are in competition with all the other breed stands so need to attract people's attention. Also - something to attract younger members - competitions are always good and photo cards to take away as they collect pics of anything especially pretty horses with flowing manes  ! It might just be a time when their interest can be grabbed - and then kept.

If you want to lure young people onto the stand, then you could have a small table with kiddy nic nacs. Once the kids get drawn in, the parents follow
They don't have to be big things, just things like rubbers, small fluffy horses, keyrings, even bouncy balls. |

Ohhhh, what about one of those horsey hoppers that was linked to somewhere here - made to look like an arab with long flowing mane, lovely arabian saddle on.... Do we have a handy ALiner who can convert one
Small brushes with arab pictures on for small grooming hands
I like the photo card idea. Maybe a set kiddies can collect, following the versatility theme, pics of arabs jumping, eventing, dressage, endurance, happy hackers, parelli work etc.

I like the photocard idea as well!
Have any of you got suitable "copyright" free photos we could use?
Also i would like to put togheter a collection of photos of Arabs both "Doing" and just being to put in albums to be browsed.
if you have - send them me on npaarabians@aol.com - with a note allowing them to be used!

Are you promoting the anglo and part bred also?
If so im sure the Guiness family would have plenty of info to contribute, a world famous horse will do wonders for attracting a crowd. |

Brilliant- i get very sensitive if i think anglos are left out!
Lynda Temple i think had some wonderful old photos that she used on here before of pures and anglos and parts, well worth contacting i would think.
I have some photos of my anglo competing successfully under saddle, hunter trials and endurance so will try scan them.
Some photos of an arab hunting is always impressive as most dont expect it. Sue Jones had a super one of Rod whipping in on one of theirs. |
