just thought you would like to know this about chipperfield circus
Abandoned animals
"It soon became clear that there were few records and those that were available were not accurate," said Ms Creamer.
"Some circuses were found to be trafficking animals. Customs officials would see this gaggle of different shaped wagons, trailers, animals boxes and cages and it was almost impossible for them to be checked."
Chipperfield and Cawley were convicted of cruelty In 1996, the group was alerted to the plight of an animal circus abandoned for eight months by its Egyptian owner.
The circus had been travelling all over Africa, but then ran out of money in Mozambique.
The shocking situation prompted Animal Defenders to mount an audacious rescue bid, that resulted in the starving lions, tigers, horses, dogs and a python being rehomed on a ranch, by an equestrian centre and a conservation project in South Africa.
"It was a pitiful sight," said Ms Creamer. "These animals were sitting in tiny cages in the blazing sun.

I know the people (they are lovely), conditions are great out to graze between performances ( most of the day), stabled at night with loads of room - and I know the horse personally! ! Tommy and linda do have other Palominos too. |

If you go on the Circus Krone website and click on the German version, then on the picture of the tiger, then Pferde, Palomino. You will get a drop down list with names of twelve palomino horses and their photos. |

Here it is translated!!
In 1993 the Marstall of the Circus crown has become richer about 12 jewels. Christel Sembach-Krone acquired 12 noble Palomino stallions after to long search in middle narrow land. In the counties of Wales and Lancashire made a find Krones talent scout.
The boss of the biggest European Circusunternehmens come true with this New acquisition a long preserved wish. Acquired from 11 different breeders they a dozen of the golden-coloured noble animals. The stallions blood-young at that time should go be so similar to itself possibly that one can mistake them. This was the difficult with the search. In the interim are from the Palominos under the experienced ones Management of Christel Sembach-Krone Manegenprofis of the top class arise
Please just and i can see how much else i can translate!! |

Two down. Ten to go. 1,Fayrelands Hawaiian Star. (should be Fairlands) 2,Goldfields Arabian Star.
They all have there short names listed. Melion.
Just another note, African Princess was the dam of African Gold, lived in Bromsgrove... |

Hi Sue The spelling of the one that I know is definitely Fayrelands Hawaiian Star (not Fairlands). He was bred by Carol Banks by Quadeha out of Fayrelands Hawaiian Lady. Looking at the photos with the petnames he could be either Assuan or Melion - his petname was Bob when I knew him. He would be getting on for about 14 now. He was lovely.
The spelling for Goldenfields Arabian Star is definitely correct as well. He was bred by Mrs. Willow Ropner. I think he could be now listed under the petname Onyx looking at the markings.
Thinking about it are we all barking up the wrong tree here because both Hawaiian Star and Arabian Star were sold to Chippefields circus. Is this the same as Krone?
Anyway they are all beautiful animals and it seems such as shame that they did not stay in this country to be loved pets and foundation stallions for more wonderful palominos.

The fairlands thing was a joke..you know circus..fair.... You could be right, we might be barking up the wrong tree/circus..still lovely pic's and an enchanting story, hope they did'nt end up with all the Chipperfield problems and were fed to the lions....you never know.. The circus was one of the things Mrs Munday mentioned and I will ask her more about it soon. I also bumped into Mrs Grant parkes of Twylands and going to visit and look through her old pictures....can't wait....Sue |

Sue, I don't think African Gold lived in Bromsgrove. He was sold to Pat Westwood of Moat House Stud [Henley-in-Arden] as a yearling by Jenette [Munday].
Prince of Darkness was African Gold's brother, I believe, and he stood at stud with Jenette in Kidderminster, following her divorce and move from Monclare, until his death.
African Gold was, of course, the sire of my Stallion African Shah.
I would be interested to find out if Pat ever lived in Bromsgrove? |

Nat. Henley & Bromsgrove to me are in spitting difference, like Clent & Halesowen, but, I'm on about the same horse.
Can anyone find breeding for Shepley Shalimar, a PBAR, around the 1970's & Palomino....(not in Vol.X. might be the next one...Please Sue

It says in 1993 the circus aquired all 12 jewels, so these might be younger than we all thought...anyone got any more clue's to the ponies proper names...Sue |
