Hi I wondered if anyone has heard of a mare called casino Royale of Asil.I have her granddaughter who is by Rabidan but not sure sbout this mare can anyone help.

Hi!
I don't know if I know you or not (from other forums etc) but I have a daughter of Rabidan! She is called Ashuer Miska and is 22.
The 'asil' prefix thing was often used by (I think) a lady called Anita Chaney - who owned Rabidan (i think!) - though I have never hear of Casino Royale of Asil.
What is the name of your mare? |

Hi
I am trying to put a photo on to show you her but not having much luck.She is about 14.1 but I think she is smaller with age.I used to show her alot when she was young and did quiet well on her.
Do you no what happened to Rabidan?
Is your mare grumpy? Shallah can be.
I have had her all of her life I brought her from someone called Sue Drummond when she was still with her mum Moonraker of Asil.
I still ride her and is still fit but has had some gas colic this year.

Hi!
Miska is 14.1 too - she is the horse in my sig. Both Shallah and Miska were conceived in the same year (I assume), as Miska was born in 1985 too. I am in contact with several people who own half-siblings - but I think your girl is the first one that is grey. The others i know of have been chestnut - all with three white socks.
I don't really know what happened to Rabidan - though I do know that his last foal was born in 1997 (so he was 27!!!) and I am in contact with the girl who owns the foal (a part-bred as well :D) - I think Rabidan had quite a few partbred foals - though I have only managed to find out about purebreds, but I am sure he has had quite a few (Some are listed on allbreeds). Interestingly one of Rabidans purebred foals was called Amberwells Karim (1982) bred by a Mrs S Clark? - so maybe a connection with your girl? I have the names of four of his progeny if you are interested.
Yes Miska is grumpy sometimes - but she isn't too bad. She is quite a flirt though.
I have had Miska for 6 years. She was as fit as a fiddle until this year and has unfortuantly now been diagnosed with arthritus. But she has this home for life and she is very much loved ;D I still ride her - but I am not allowed to jump her again.
I hope some of that helps. I have plenty of other info - just ask questions and i can attempt to answer them. it is lovely to hear from someone else who has a Rabidan foal (there is a picture of him on the allbreed website).

I think that I have managed to put some photos on of Shallah.
Going back to S Clarke she could be the same person as S Drummond as I know she has been married a few times.The stud shallah came from was Amberwell House, I think thats where maybe Karim came from.
I would be interested in his progeny!
Shallah was born 20th May 1985.
Its really nice to know there are other horses that are related to shallah,She is a flirt aswell!She loves a big warmblood gelding that in the field next to her.And is always in season.
I should have let her have a foal,but I want a pure bred next!

Well done for putting the pics up - she looks lovely and looks very good for 22!
Miska is the same - nearlly constantly in season :D I wish I had put her into foal - as well, but having got her at an older age, we didn't really think about it.
Pure-breds are by far easier to research :D. Amberwells Karim's registered progeny are:
IBN SHAZAD stallion 1991
ELMSTEAD AMIRA MAL BADIA stallion 1993
ELMSTEADS MOLLONIQUE Mare 1994
ALI JAFAR stallion 1995
(Only Pure-breds are listed where I got this info)
The top three are bred by a MR & MRS B. EATON and the last one by MR A P COZENS. All four horses are chestnut.
You may be interested in a stud which has two Rabidan stallions (our two's half-brothers). If you go to google and search 'Bramins stud' it should come up.
Oh and I just found on allbreeds that Amberwell's Karim has a full sister:

I have looked at the Bramins Stud.The stallions look nice I liked the chestnut one.
I have emailed them to ask about Rabidan and Casino Royale they might have some imformation.They are quite local to me so they have stayed in the area,were Rabidan was.
I have some Pictures somewhere of Rabidan and Dargeel I will try and put them on I also have some of Rabidan at the Herts Show he was show in the ridden classes.
I did see him when I first brought Shallah he was a bit bad tempered!

I would love to see some pics of Rabidan - I have only seen one and that is the one on allbreeds which is not particularly clear.
I was lucky enough to meet my mare's dam this year (she is 27!) and she was very much like Miska. But I have never heard much about Rabidan. Was he successful in the show ring? I think Miska may have been shown when she was younger but have never been able to find any results (she was listed in the ascot show catalogue, but it didn't have any useful info)

These are the pictures of Rabidan one at the Herts Show being ridden,and the other when he was at stud you can see he looks like Miska.
The other ones are, shallah as a four year old.She is with my friends gelding Jasconda.He was a very good ridden gelding.
The other grey is Asil Shahanshah. |

Do you know Casino Royale's breeding?
I am afraid I only know 2 horses with the Asil prefix. Here is one - The Sundancer of Asil. Is he related to your girl?

Thanks for the picture of the palamino I am sure that they are related to my mare.I have been in touch with the Bramin stud and they are going to send me some more pictures of Rabidan,and find out about Casino Royale,so I will hope they can come up with something. |

THE SUNDANCER OF ASIL was the sire of FANTACY IN GOLD OF ASIL, who was the dam of at least two of Rabidan's foals (Bramins' SUNDANCERS LEGACY OF ASIL and KAHAN SPIRIT OF SUNDANCER)

Timberwolf, who sometimes posts on here, has a 26 yo (?) mare by Sundancer of Asil, she is beautiful and has been a lifelong friend to Timberwolf.
I will tell her to post some photos of her tomorrow.
