Mmm...sounds right! When we went to view - it was difficult as all the mares/foals/youngstock were all in the same paddock & all wanting attention - got rather busy!! The dam of the foal that attached itself to me - was lovely - rather worn looking though & old - I asked them about her - but they had no idea at all about her other than she was an Arab!! They showed me the foals papers & there was Donax in the breeding!
Def sounds like the same mare. Not to be too rude but most of their horses were not in the 'best' condition and as you say all ran together!! Premier was not in the best condition when I last saw him having run himself ragged for a full summer and been booted into shape by a few less than kind mares!! In thinking they did have another arab mare - also quite old - but she didnt look worn out. I believe she has since passed away.
yes I think you are right. Yes they were breeding minis. Never understood the fascination with minis. I think Premier was a lot of horse for them, hence they stopped covering in hand and ran him with the mares. I do know she broke her arm whilst in hand covering with him. I would have took him home in a nanosecond given half the chance!!
Judith - I remembered the mares name, Magicstone, by Donax out of a Silver Scenario mare, knew it would come to me sooner or later!! No idea where I got Crystal from lol. She would be 18 now.
