Hi Bia I have spoken to the owner and found out that the spelling on the ad is wrong the sire is Naazim and the dam is Assal, she was bred by a Donald Duke from Glos. I am going onto allbreed now but any info that you find would be appreciated and an opinion on the breeding if you know it, Thanks so much for your time Sue |

No that's Naazim who was located at the other side of the world. Samsara Stud's Naazim is the sire - there are photos of him in back copies of AHS news. |

I have found Naazim and Assal thanks to help from Marilyn and I am going to see the mare on Sunday in the original ad for her the names were wrongly spelt so I had trouble tracking down the pedigree but I would like to hear from some one about breeding to her in the future although her orginal breeder has been very helpful I am an Egyptian novice all advice gratefully received Sue |

Hi Sue,
Sadly, I'm not the Mike who owns MA Bint Azadik, that is Mike Ashmore
Here is a photo that I took of Naazim back in the late 1980's. He is undoubtedly one of the very best SE stallions ever to stand in the UK, a lovely horse, beautifully bred but sadly very much lesser sires got the mares
Donald has had (and still does) some great horses including Assal's sire Ibn Nazeema who was later owned by Al Rayyan Farm in Qatar. Assal's dam Ameera was a full sister of Jamil bred by Dr Nagel, so you have a very well bred mare
If she were mine, I would breed her to either Mahadin (Madkour I X Mahameh) (Mahameh being the dam of Ansata Halim Shah's best son and a phenomenal broodmare) or Mobaris (Mohssen X Wahiba) an alternative (if you like Ansata breeding) would be Shahil (Maysoun X Shahila).
The pedigrees are below:-
Mahadin :- http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/mahadin Mobaris:- http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/mobaris Shahil:- http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/shahil2

Hi Mike (sadly the one who does not own MA Bint Azadik) LOL Thanks for all that info I am going to see her on Sunday but I am tempted to have her anyway as she is ridden as well I think that from her photos she looks a little plain but thats not a problem put to the right stallion with the looks and the pedigree I should be able to put right most faults. She looks to have a very good body and legs. I am not a big breeder by any means and will never be in the position to show big time I just would like to breed a very competent horse that is beautiful but useful as well ANY thoughts anyone Sue

Hi,
Mahadin, his older full brother Mahfouz is currently at stud in Egypt.
Mobaris his sire Mohssen was almost certainly a better sire than his half-brother TheEgyptianPrince
Shahil a former reserve European Champion
Mahadin is a dahman shawan tracing to Halima, Mobaris & Shahil are both seglawi jedran ibn sudan tracing to Ghazieh of Abbas Pasha.
If you drop me an email, I will give you the contact details, the tricky one to get a breeding to would be Mobaris as the other two are available by AI but I don't think that he is. I used to own his half sister and she was very much the freight train charging seglawi that Gari has described in other threads, even given the fact that she had previously severed tendons in one hind leg and was dying of grass sickness the poor train wouldn't have stood a chance Sadly I no longer have any photos of either Wassila or her dam Wahiba who was a national champion in her youth

Hi Sue, I have 2 Naazim offspring, one is Shaheed http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/shaheed he is SE and the second Naazima http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/naazima , I find both horses sensitive and a liitle 'hot', they are both clever and have taken their time to settle, both have been worth it tho', Shaheed resembles his sire in looks and Naazima her grandmother Norra, I'd love to see piccies of the mare you are looking at, good luck, Mandy. |

Hi Mandy I have been to see her she is lovely not as plain as in the photos got back today stayed at my daughters (the dreaded tube strike) . I am now trying to find an equine vet to get her vetted and then shes mine all being well. So excited. Going to post to see if anyone knows a good vet in the area. Cant use the one who does the owners work as a conflict of interest etc. Thanks for your help and advice. Sue |

Thanks Mandy So am I just hoping that it goes well. I know some people will think that I am being ultra cautious having her vetted but as she is also ridden albeit very green I just want to be sure, I dont think that anything can go wrong (famous last words) so fingers and eyes crossed LOL Sue |
