Sarah, thanks for that.
I have just asked on the "Golden Trail" thread, but does anyone have pics of Cornish Venture, pal, 1968? Also Ochre Golden Finale, by Mr Sun Tan, and Legend Moon Amethyst, and Legend Indian Goddess, by Silver Moonlight?
I have no info on Legend Moon Amethyst at all. Does anyone know who her dam and sire were? And how big she is/was? |

Dont you mean Ochre Golden Tan & Roundhills Golden Finale ?ha ha
Legend Moon Amethyst is full sister to Josies pally stallion Legend Moon Solitaire, she has been at the Roundhills stud for years but im sure Jan Browne would send you a picture of her ! Josie showed legend Indian goddess as a youngster before selling her but i can`t find any pics of her in my old Pally magazines ! I wonder if SaraW has got a pic of her as she bought one of her daughters ? want to try & pay the Legend stud a visit this autumn , i will try & sort it out with my friends & Josie , if i do i will get a pic of Godess for you ,she has the same white stockings on her front legs as your boy! |

Hi Sarah, Yes, I must have been having a blond moment. Its also the end of a very long school holiday. Atleast someone knows what I'm on about! LOL!
I would LOVE a pic of Goddess!! Also a full body pic of Roundhills Moon God?
And, could you ask her who the dam and sire of Legend Moon Amethyst were?It may fill in the last missing chunk, of my boys pedigree
I'm really envious! Wish I lived closer to the Legend Stud! |

Hi Indi ...... i think that you have just had another blonde moment ! ha ha If you look at your boy`s pedigree you will see that i have already filled in the missing chunk ! Actually the legend Stud is about a 2hr drive from where i live , im down near Torquay & its 2 miles from where The Badminton horses trials are held , thats why i dont get up there very often ! Sarah

Hi Sarah
Will try to send you some photos of both - I am sure you will like them
Widget is having a break whilst Darren concentrates on the horses for HOYS, but he went out recently and was Champion in Hand and under Saddle. He has only been beaten once at the Midland Group inthe PBA class by a horse that was all plaited etc. Over the winter he will be going jumping and hunting as he loves this activity
Speak soon

Hi Sarah, Thanks for filling in my boys pedigree.
I didn't realise you lived that far from the Legend Stud. I know where it is, because I bought Indi from Josie and David. Just wished I'd asked more questions when I was there *tut*
At the time, Josie was talking about this horse and that horse, and who they were out of etc etc, and I didn't have a clue what she was talking about, LOL. I bet she'd told me some really relevent information, but it all went in one ear and out the other!

Ha ha , i know what you mean , i think that Josie must have about 30 - 40 horses Palomino , cremello & chestnut , oh & a bay Arab mare Manakhah (Fantasy`s dam )who is a grandaughter of Banat. Shes the only Arab that Josie owns ! Josie still has Legend Moon Icon for sale, she`s a full sister to Fantasy but bigger !
When you go there Josie takes you around from field to field to show you them & all the horses are so friendly |

Debbie, Thank you so much. Thats amazing! How old is that pic of The Copper Witch? Where on earth did you find it?! Does it say what she was? How tall she was?
I'm still yet to find one of Legend Indian Goddess, and a full body shot of Roundhills Moon God. How I wish I had all those old Palomino Magazines!!
Thanks again, Sheryl x |

Hi Sheryl Ha ha...that'll teach me!! Was so excited to get them all scanned in that I didnt make a note of the magazine volume. Have now had to wade through them again to find the picture. It is on Page 4 of the Spring 1978 Palomino magazine. The Narrative says:
"Legend Stud news is that 1977 proved a good season for foals with the mares all producing palomino offspring by the reisdnet stallions. Silver Moonlight sired colts from Legend Alchemist (ch) and Tinak (ch) and a huge filly from The Copper Witch (ch),, the latter mare being 1st and her foal 3rd in the Hunter Brood mare class at Tetbury Show judged by Norman Crow....."
I thought it was quite unusual to get a picture of The Copper Witch because the non-palomino broodmares do not seem to feature in the magazines. Shame it is not a full body shot though but she looks like a deep liver chestnut.
Best wishes Debbie |

Debbie, Thanks for that. You are a genius! The Copper Witch looks pretty tall, and Thoroughbredy.
If you have any spare time, could you see if any of the other horses from my boys pedigree, are in your mags, please?. I am sadly desperate to get pics of his dam and sire especially

Hi Sharon and welcome Monty looks lovely. I have got some pictures of Roundhills Hawaiian Sensation in some magazines. She's pure saddlebred isnt she? I think she was a sister to Roundhills Hawaiian Genius who is my girls grandad. The Roundhills horses are wonderful. Really must plan a visit to see Moonshine Vision while he is still around. Best wishes Debbie |

Yes I will try and ring Mrs. Browne and hope that she will see me even if I am not looking to buy another horse!!!
She is the best person to get some nice pictures of Roundhills Hawaiian Genius as well as Goldmount Bourbon Genius and Goldmount Kathy Haines who she imported. Would also like to see Shepley Tiara who I believe is still alive.
Must try and clear some space in my diary. Full-time work, a 6 year old child, and 3 horses dont really give time for a life!!!
Here is a picture of Roundhills Hawaiian Sensation for Montana6:
