Hi guys This is the only full picture of Zalaman that I have - it is from an old Palomino magazine so unfortunately not in colour.
It does show off his size and his lovely shape though. Surely someone must have a decent colour picture somewhere?
I would have loved to have seen him in the flesh - he looks amazing. Moonshine Vision looks a lot like him.

Wow!! Thanks for that Debbie
Do you have a relative of Zalaman? Sorry if you've said already. I've had too many people and horses to remember lately!
Are there any pics of Legend Indian Goddess, or Roundhills Moon God in your magazines?
I'll have to join the BPS, and get the magazines too!
I'm so glad I found this forum! I'd have never seen these pics otherwise. Thanks to everyone |

That pic of Zalaman looks quite like a mature version of my boy. Please excuse the round tum though. Indi does like his food!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I want!!!
Faberge is my favoutite stallion. Zalaman is Indi's Great Grandsire too, so ours are related! They must be cousins
Indi's got long ears too!
Have you got anymore pics of her? How old is she now? What do you do with her? |

Sorry Indi - forgot to reply!
Jazz has just turned 4 now and we are in the process of breaking her in so havent done any showing this year. She is really good in traffic and has had her first shoes on so looking forward to riding her round the Wyre Forest in the very near future.
Faberge is my favourite stallion too - Have you seen his new photos on the Rainbow Stud website in Denmark? He looks ace and such a perfect colour.
I own Faberge's aunt and couldnt resist buying Jazz when she came up for sale because I doubt I will get the chance to get a Faberge baby again. Importing is not an option for me!!
The Zalaman line is a bonus because he was my all-time favourite palomino as a child.

Hi Judith I think Rufus has a look all of his own. He looks like a really cheeky, happy little chap. I can just imagine his little face when he does his saddlebred trot past all the competition!! Zalaman obviously throws a lot of gorgeous and talented horses.
Has anyone seen Kennox Zalsun in the flesh. He looks quite a lot like him on photos I have seen. He stands at Malvern which is quite near to me. Debbie |

Rufus is VERY serious & yes - his trot is something else & he hates to see a horse infront
Did Zalaman have a lot of offspring? I would love another Rufus |

Hi Judith There are 10 listed on Allbreeds. I think Moonshine Fantom was bred by Diana May who is based in Solihull (Moonshine Stud). She bred Moonshine Vision and now has Roundhills Maysong who she bought from Jan Browne. The other prefixes are Helperic who as you know is Mrs. Lane from Bewdley, and Netheroak was Kate Darby.
Surely there must be more than that. I have met a few beautiful dun horses on my travels who I could tell were "American" and they turned out to be by Zalaman. Perhaps they didnt register them though.
Rufus sounds like one in a million. You are falling into the same trap that I did - worrying about losing him. The best ones do that to you.
Your best bet to buy another Rufus is probably to get hold on one of Jan Browne's babies. She still has some old pure saddlebred mares which would give you that trot - and if you bought a filly you would be able to use Rameed to throw your palomino!!
I think I am a bad influence on you. Good job we dont live near each other or we would have fields full of Zalaman ancestors!! Debbie |

Debbie - stop putting ideas in my head Mrs Lane offered me one of her mares once - related to Rufus - on breeding loan.....but I would prefer to buy.
Of course - I could breed from Ginger - her G.Sire is Zalman http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/roundhills+golden+ginger.......but not sure if I am willing to take the risk as she has an unusual temperament |

I dont think you need any more horses Judith - particularly this winter with the price of hay!!
Here is a picture of Kennox Zalsun who is 16hh by Zalaman out of Tequila Sunrise (registered partbred Arab). He is a lovely boy but there are hardly any stock listed by him. He does seem to look a lot like his dad though.

Hes lovely I remember seeing his picci years ago in the BPS mag - & thought he was lush then - didn't he used to stand in Scotland yers ago?
Ginger is madly in season now & she had a major temper tantrum yesterday when we were teasing one of the other mares - she was ready & waiting & wasn't at all happy at being ignored Just going to tease the other mare again - so is will be knickers in a twist time again - shes a real hussy!! Fly our 20's something Arab mare - who I haven't seen in season for several years is is season Well Rameed our boy is rather lush & does a good chat-up line |

Hi Judith Yes he did used to stand in Scotland. The owner is listed as Mrs Blin who moved down to Malvern.
I havent been on here for a bit but I have been trying to put as many horses as possible from the BPS magazine on to Allbrees. You should notice a load more Legend, Colebridge and Helperic horses on there now and more stock by Zalaman. I had already done most of the Fayrelands and Shulay ones so my work is nearly done!!!
Note to self.... really must "get a life" one day
Glad to hear that Rameed has lots of lovely ladies lusting after him! He must be a very happy horse!! Debbie |

Hi saddlebred, I've just been on Allbreedpedigree and have noticed that someone has filled in missing info in my Indi's family tree. Here it is: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/legend+indian+prince
I was wondering if you did this, and if so is this Silver Moonlight definately the sire of Legend Moon Amethyst, because that would have made him 39 yrs old at covering(?). Or maybe it was the Silver Moonlight, on the other side of his family (?).
Thats great work you've been doing by the way |

Hi there, thats no problem , i know Silver Moonlight as he is the sire of my mare, he`s on the all breeds pedigree as Silver Moonlight2....there seem to be a few of them ! i never saw Amethyst as Jan Brown owned her but i saw her dam Alchemist who was a chestnut PBA & her Grand dam The Copper Witch a chestnut 3/4 TB so i have added her parents to your boys pedigree for you ! |

Well every little bit helps ! I will need to ask Josie about The Copper Witch but i should think she was mostly TB as Josie & David like breeding the Hack / Riding Horse type! Silver Moonlight was 3/4 TB about 15hh & was registered with the National Pony Society |
