Does anyone have any youngsters by Orashaan and if so, how do you find their temperament? I've an offer of a lovely horse by him out of a Crabbet mare, and just wondered if this is a good cross?!

I was fortunate to meet Orashaan in person and he had a wonderful temperament, but don't forget that the temperament of a foal will mostly be taken from the mare!!!

I too met Orashaan in the flesh and he was a lovely horse to be around.
Rod used to ride him around the farm and the fields with the mares in and Orashaan just got on with his ride - not bothering about the mares.
We have a Maysoun 6 year old stallion and his temperament is one of the best I have ever seen - his tongue is always out ready to lick you death and I am sure he doesnt know what biting is

Sadly things have fallen through, however sounds like Orashaan is a very nice person and leaves his mark well. I have met Vera's Dennis in the flesh (my husband took quite a few shots of him at Malvern 2 years ago!) and I fell in love with him. He is a wonderful horse and so loving. |

Hi I have a mare called Jemaliaa whose sire is Orashaan, and she has a fantastic temperament. The dam Jiwana is nice natured too I think. |

Hi Alix, You may be interested to know that I owned Jiwana's dam Jiwan for the last 7 or 8 yrs. Jiwan also had a foal by Orashaan a strapping chestnut colt. Sadly we lost Jiwan in May this year she was 21 and had been suffering from severe laminitis. |

Hi Lanabanana Yes I am interested. Sorry to hear about your loss. Was Jiwan Bay because Jiwana and Jema are. I met Jiwana at the stud where I bought Jema and she was lovely. Did you breed her? Sorry, I'm really nosy.
Thanks |

Hi Alix, Yes Jiwan was dark bay with a large white star, she had white hairs in her tail which I believe most if not all of her bay offspring have, has Jema inherited this from her Grandmother? No, I didn't breed Jiwana she was bred by Sue and Emrys Jones of Bychan Arabians I think, they had several foals from her. Before that she was owned by Countess Penelope Lewenhaupt in Sweden and bred by Major and Mrs. P Maxwell. I own two of her offspring and there is another on the sales pages of this forum, under stallions Ahanu is by Emiratus B. I'm pretty sure all her foals were straight Egyptians. I don't have many photos of her, but I will try to post one if you would like to see her |

Jayne,
Sorry I missed this post. I have met a number of Orashaan progeny and all have had lovely temperaments. Dennis is at a rehab yard at the mo full of very expensive, eventers, showjumpers and dressage horses and he's won over all the staff already and he's only been there 5 days.
Sorry it fell through for you. The right horse is out there for you and you'll know almost as soon as you see him. Took me about 2 minutes to decide to have Dennis!!!

Hi Lanabanana, Yes Jema has white hairs in her tail and also some on her legs and body which I have only just noticed! I would love to see photos of Jiwan. I have some of Jema that I will try to upload, not sure how to.

Sorry your purchase fell through. I bred a colt by Orashaan and he had the most fantastic temperament you could imagine, just like a gelding to handle and never nipped in his life; not like the other colts I have had who just couldn't stop themselves nipping even though they knew it was naughty!
He is the most laid back kind horse you could ever imagine. Orashaan was a lovely horse who passed on his fabulous temperament.
