My boy Al Galero was so named by the Maxwells because he had the same huge spanish eyes as Galero, his Grand sire.
I love those big Spanish eyes!

The Shahin son is at Coombe Farm. Can't remember his name now either!
Would Adawy and Azteq be classed as the golden cross? |

The Shahin son that Barbara was referring to was my naughty boy the other one wasn't at the EE This is a my most recent photo of Shikari (Shahin/Jiwan) just chilling out at home. I've often thought of getting a straight Spanish girlfriend for him

You certaianly should get him a Spanish girlfried, mine was by a Shahin son, Sjambok, out of a Straight Spanish mare, if you end up with one anything like mine was it would be well worth it. I have a Shahin daughter, but have my eye on a very nice Sheykh Obeyd boyfriend for her! |

Hi Lanabanana
That's him! Sadly I have never mastered the art of putting photos on here so can't put any on of my mares and Shahin. I did see the advert for the son at Coombe farm; he is a full brother to one of my mares.

The Shahin son at Coombe Farm is Shaka out of AK Kastana making him 3/4 relation to Crusader. I've seen Shaka at Combe Farm a couple of times and there is quite a strong family resemblance

Everytime I come back on this thread there is a feast of beautiful horses to look at, thank you all for sharing these beauties.
Barbara, I would be happy to post your pics if you want to email them to me.
Barbie, beautiful eyes without a doubt, even when they were closed!!!
Lanabanana, just love Shikari - he is most definitely my type of horse, and a spanish wife for him would be heaven on earth (IMHO)
Lynda, Bambooki - what wonderful eyes, and the expression on his face, totally classic!!
Rosy, I don't know how you can resist, but I bow down to your superior sense of responsibility and completely understand that it needs to be the right time to consider taking on another beauty (sometimes I wish I had been more sensible)
AND I am so jealous of all you lucky people who have Shahin offspring, I might be knocking on your doors if I ever win the lottery!!!

Carla, resistance will, I know,be futile in the end! but for now I must be strong it simply wouldn't be fair to get another one settled here and then move so I consider myself lucky indeed to have my Shahin girl and just have to wait and see what the future holds |

My mare, Enchantment, is a full sister to Shaka and my other two mares who are full sisters are three quarter sisters to Enchantment; all bred by Countess Penny in Sweden and imported.
My stallion is a Crusader son so also related to them.

Rosy, patience is a virtue and will no doubt be repaid ten-fold in the future - the result will be stunning and well worth waiting for!!!

Carla, Thanks for the compliment about my boy
I'd love to see some photos of your mares Barbara. I remember Enchantment being shown as a youngster, I hadn't realised that you own her now. I also saw Crown Princess when she first arrived from Sweden, but sadly she was out of my price range. There was a filly that came over at the same time as Shikari I think her name was Snow Queen? She was in the South for a while, but I don't think she was ever shown, do you have any idea where she is now? she would be 14yrs old. |

Rosy, you are absolutely right about the name being Pearl Queen. A friend of mine had a dog with the pedigree name of Snow Queen donkeys years ago, I must have been having a senior blonde moment and mixed them up Do you happen to know where she is now? |

Sorry, no idea where she is, just knew of her, I have wondered if she was bought by the same person I got my mare from, thought she said she had another Shahin girl, if so she seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth! |

I think Pearl Queen has changed hands quite a few times over the years but don't know where she is now. Princess is my most treasured mare, she is so pretty and such a sweetheart. I would have ten of her. I love the others dearly too but if I could only keep one then I think it would be Princess.
Will catch up with you, Paula, we were out most of the day and I am like a dead snail doing the horses with the snapped ligament in my shoulder so have only just come in. Hope all is well and your paperwork has finally arrived.
