Hi everyone
I was just wondering what sort of profession we are employed and whats involved just thought it would be interesting to know abit more about each other, because there always seems to be people on here no matter what time of day.
I work shifts in a NHS community home for learning dis and soon to be made reduntant within the year no date yet. NHS are closing all community homes. So then I shall be on here all day!!!

Hi, I am the Medical Secretary at our local hospice for the terminally ill. I know it sounds very depressing but it isn't although it can be very sad at times. Thats when I like to spend time with my boy. Shelagh |

Hi Christine,
I do two jobs - other than the house and horses! I'm an entertainment agent half the time and sell TV aerials, freeview boxes etc., on eBay (OH's buisiness) I never know how to answer the phone though, as which business the call is for I end up answering as if it was the other one! my time is plit between packaging and sending out orders and issueing contracts, sending out invoices and worst of all THE DREADED VAT RETURN!

I'm a Broker/Product Specialist in Investment Management for a large Investment Bank - my job basically involves presenting our product to Corporates and other financial institutions. I get to travel alot which is good but that often means I don't have as much time to spend with Pash as I'd like... |

I am a home maker!!!!however my husband will say home wrecker!!!! as i cant be bothered to cook, hate cleaning,!!!!also i have to deal with any and every situation when he works shifts or away, and with my lot, kids and animals its more than enough to be getting on with a majority of the time. I was a hairdresser years ago and did own my own salon, still do a few heads!!! |

I'm a journalist and work two days a week for the local paper, writing front-of-paper news of all kinds, features, editorial comment etc up to the weekly deadline. I also do some freelance writing and am the publicist for the town's theatre and arts centre. I can do the freelance writing and publicity work in my own time so theoretically it means I can do the horses the rest of the time. But somehow I never seem to have enough time so I'm trying to cut down the numbers... |

Have we had this thread before or am I having a spot of deja vu,? ah well.... I am an ACSI, an Independant Accident and Crime Scene Investigator, although I am qualified I am thinking about doing further studies to get a higher grade, and so should not be on here at all, I should be working! I do get to do some of my work at home and so can sneak out to ride if there is a break in the clouds( not today ) I work with barrister/police as I do Personal Injury and Criminal cases, so its quite interesting. My husband says its the perfect job for someone who has an inquiring mind ( very nosey) and loves to do puzzles backwards ( anally retentive)and has a good memory ( Never forgets when the argument is HIS fault) Polly
ps if you have seen CSI on telly ---believe me , none of us look like that, or wear designer clothes to recover evidence, even my best interview suits don't look that good !! |

I am a typesetter/advert designer. I have illustrated one book, have been asked to do another (waiting for it to be written though!), sell my designs on t-shirts etc on cafepress (see website below...), hope to sell enough of my paintings to make a living from it.
I used to work from home, job changed last year and now have to travel to office, therefore looking for ANYTHING that I can do from home: desperate.

I do all the admin side of our property development business. We specialise in barn conversions/renovations of older properties often with a bit of land so if anyone is looking to move to Welsh borders we may have something of interest. (sorry hope that's not classed as advertising.) I do find it hard to concentrate during my working hours what with horses to ride, dogs to walk and AL forum, it's difficult to stay focused. |

Hey everyone
I work for the Environment Agency, spend summer surveying fish and walking rivers which is great . Less glamourous side is peering down Septic tanks lol. Its a really varied job but I still get lumbered with paperwork |
