I would like to send out an invitation to Jane Fraser Brown's (Oakways Stud)open day. Jane wanted to get on here herself to say there will be a warm welcome at Oakways on June 17th but somehow she hasn't been able to get herself signed on. Even Paula has been on the case to sort it out too. See www.oakwaysstud.com for details or get in touch with Jane directly, contact details on the website. There will be lots to see and do in a lovely setting so put the date in your diary and look forward to seeing aliners there.
Hope you are well - not spoken to you for ages! Hope your horses are all well too.
I am planning on going to Jane's open day this year, as I missed last year's and it sounded great. I want a closer look at that stunning mare Om El Sariya Dream and that lovely little foal L'Amoure
Hi Kate lovely to hear from you. I'll ring you sometime over the weekend. It would be good to catch up. Glad you are coming this year. You won't be disappointed. Sariya is very beautiful and so is her colt. The foals are all delightful, I like them all but perhaps Angelique is the one who has stolen my heart.
I think anyone who opens their doors to visitors needs support and a pat on the back. JMO. Having done a few small open days ourselves, it is not without major stress.
Holding these open days may be a away of selling stock or hoping to get visiting mares to the stallion, but, it also a way of encouragement and a help to enthuse all of us, something that is needed so much within the Arabian world. I understand the advertising done by Oakways in the non arab media will hopefully bring in newcomers to our breed. Something not many of us can do.
Good Luck to Oakways Stud, we are coming for a lovely day out in Welsh Wales
Look forward to seeing you Sue. You have said that so well. It looks like a full time post just organising an open day. It is not just the advertising but all the behind the scenes preparation as well.
